Built in the 1760s, this wonderful building sits within Shropshire’s Weston Park, an estate famed for 1000 acres of parkland landscaped by Capability Brown.

Today, the Temple of Diana offers a unique self-catering experience for up to six guests – a luxurious escape with a difference.  All the comforts of modern living now feature alongside this building’s exquisite architecture, making it even easier to relax in this tranquil location.

The Temple of Diana was designed by architect James Paine, whose work can also be seen at Alnwick Castle and Chatsworth.  Intended as a multipurpose garden building, this truly impressive abode combines two very different architectural styles that still intrigue today.

The accommodation is set over three floors, with the main living areas on the ground floor.  The magnificent orangery is a stunning space to enjoy coffee over the morning papers, or breakfast at the central dining table.  Elegant columns, an ornate plasterwork ceiling, and stunning floor-to-ceiling windows combine to make this room a very special place to be.

You’ll also find a circular sitting room on the ground floor – a cosy place for relaxing around the fire.  Originally where the lady of the house took her tea, this intimate room is decorated in soft greens, yellows and corals, in keeping with the building’s heritage.  The Temple’s former music room is now a gorgeous dining room; unusually octagonal in shape, it’s a fabulous space to enjoy long dinners late into the evening.

You can also find the first of the Temple’s three bedrooms on the ground floor – a double room decorated in soft sage and creams.  With traditional sash windows looking out to the surrounding foliage, it’s a wonderfully calming room that makes waking each morning a pleasure.

The second two bedrooms are situated on the first floor, accessed via the stone spiral staircase that connects all three floors.  The unusual circular bedroom has a double bed, as well as an en-suite bathroom.  Next door, you’ll find a third double room, which can be configured as a twin bedroom if required.
