One Cat Farm
Three miles from the sandy beaches of Cardigan Bay, you will find an enchanting eco-glamping site that's family-run, exceptionally friendly and quite literally down-to-Earth.
One Cat Farm (home to one cat, as you might expect, along with a few chickens these days too!) is your year-round sumptuous setting for rediscovering all the refreshing wonders of outdoor living.
Featuring four beautiful, practical and cosy camping cabins, you'll have everything you need to disconnect from hectic everyday life and simply lose yourselves in the finest surroundings - and company! - that nature has to offer, in three acres of hidden wooded valley that's teeming with wildlife and surrounded by lush greenery.
Enjoy waking up to joyous birdsong as you make a fresh cup of coffee and devour an al-fresco breakfast. Later, watch the golden sunset as it sinks into the sky, huddling cosily around your warming camp fire (songs optional) before heading into your cabin for a soundless night's sleep.
From the moment you arrive on One Cat Farm, you'll feel gloriously welcome. Your cabin (designed and built by the site's friendly owner Lyndon) will be ready and prepared, with plenty of firewood, freshly baked bread and garden flowers awaiting your arrival.
Featuring insulation, double glazing and electric heating, with turf roofs that blend with their natural surroundings, these huts are real outdoor lover's delight, with each perfectly positioned to take full advantage of the soothing meadow views across sparkling ponds and rolling hills - all taken to new heights with a heavenly hammock!
Inside, you'll find clean and attractive Nordic style that incorporates plenty of flexibility to suit families, friends and couples alike. Discover a freshly-dressed double bed, plus two singles that cleverly double as day beds or sofas...plus a pull-down table, stackable stools and plenty of practical storage and shelving.
Fleeces are provided for chillier evenings, and you'll even find electric lighting and a power socket inside.
Exploring the site, you'll soon discover that owners Jessie and Lyndon really have thought of everything. Wonderful wash rooms feature hot showers, basins and changing areas, and two flushing WCs.
Meanwhile, The Pigshed (no longer housing any pigs!) is a clean and well-equipped communal kitchen and dining area with gas hobs, sinks and a fridge - not to mention a comfy sofa, books and games! Tea, coffee and cooking essentials are all provided, and you'll also find a small shop that stocks the basics, not to mention a few luxuries including olives, crisps and chocolate!
Get to know the other campers around the communal dining table, or enjoy al-fresco mealtimes to yourselves at the picnic tables.
Blissfully quiet, the only noises you'll hear on One Cat Farm are the sounds of people chatting, birds singing and bees buzzing. Enjoy making friends with the local wildlife, with wild geese, herons, otters and lizards regularly spotted (oh, and not forgetting the famous One Cat!)
Those in the mood for wandering further afield, why not start with a trip to the charming Georgian town of Aberaeron, recently voted the ‘best place in Wales'? A day at the sandy beach never disappoints, and Cardigan Bay is home to many bottlenose dolphins...take a boat tour and get to know them, or walk along the bracing coastal path and see if you can spot them swimming past!
Half an hour away by car, you'll find the unspoilt wilderness of the Cambrian Mountains, ideal for exploring. And of course, back on site there's plenty of space for kids' games, with some excellent dog-friendly pubs waiting to welcome you nearby.
So for a refreshing outdoor holiday that will leave you feeling like the cat that got the cream... grab your loved ones and head for the Welsh wonders of One Cat Farm!
