An authentic 1914 carriage for two, surrounded by acres of countryside close to the Cardigan Bay Coast.

Gorgeously vintage and traditionally styled, The King Edward is your setting for an opulent countryside break for two (plus one well-behaved dog), infused with all the romance of times gone by.

Surrounded by sixty-five stunning acres of organic sheep-dotted meadow and woodland, there are plenty of delights to sample before you've even entered your early twentieth century carriage.  There's a local produce shop bursting with treats, plus a ‘welly store' that means you can pack perfectly light, still fully equipped to explore all those refreshing country trails.

You'll reach The King Edward via its very own private country road, just fifteen minutes away from Cardigan Bay. Nestled in a secluded field on a friendly complex, this really is the perfect spot for a romantic break. Simply take the original steps up to your imaginative, creatively-designed carriage, to feel instantly at home.

There's a contemporary studio-style feel inside, with plenty of homely furnishings and touches adding timeless tradition. The crackling woodburner with plenty of logs and cosy bench seating makes for the perfect, wine-equipped wind-down space after a hard day's exploring. Meanwhile the downy double bed at the end of your carriage is the setting for many a sound night's sleep.

While away lazy afternoons al fresco, with spectacular countryside views all around. Fire up the barbecue as the sun starts to set, for a sizzling sunset supper you won't forget...and with your own private kitchen and shower room just 50 yards away, you've got absolutely everything you need to simply sit back, relax and enjoy.

If you feel like making new friends, you'll find a shared games barn close by, plus a shared utility room complete with washing machine (useful after those long walks!) Stock up on essentials in the fresh produce shop, and then hole yourselves deliciously up in comfort.

Beach lovers will fall in love with the picturesque, sandy Cardigan Bay, with its quaint fishing villages and harbour towns to take windswept strolls through. You'll find plenty of restaurants, pubs and shops to browse in too.

More energetic types can enjoy everything from water sports and cycling (there's a lockable bike rack on the carriage site), to boat trips and coastal walking. How about setting out on the local Taste Trail, or for a heritage hit, visiting the National Trust's Llanerchaeron or the medieval remains at Strata Florida Abbey?

Whatever you enjoy doing the most on holiday, you'll find plenty of scope to indulge amongst the coast, countryside and unique culture you'll find in this beautiful part of the world. So pack gloriously light and head for The King Edward - a carriage that's truly fit for rural royalty.
