Tiny Tiki Retro Hideaway
You'll find just about everything you could ever wish for at the luxurious, grown-up Tiny Tiki Retro Hideaway glampsite.
A wide open sky, with 360-degree mountain, city, and valley views? Check. Blissful seclusion, far above the city lights? Check. Immaculate vintage surroundings? Check.
Nestled within the sandstone cliffs of Chatsworth, California, with views out across the San Fernando Valley, you'll discover a rare, gleaming 1954 Spartan Manor caravan known as ‘Gypsy'. A roomy 24ft, you'll find her equipped with a cosy double bed, fully-equipped kitchen, and a shower - in true Tiny House style.
Head outside, to be greeted by a furnished, 650 square-foot cliff-top patio, and a dreamy summer gazebo that's ideal for al fresco snoozing, complete with a downy double bed.
Aside from that awe-inspiring natural scenery, it's the supreme attention to detail you'll notice here. The site's friendly owners, designer Julia and her husband Michael, live just next door (though they will be completely respectful of your privacy), and Tiny Tiki Retro Hideaway is their true labour of love.
You can expect perfectly-designed interiors that will make your heart soar with delight, including a wood-panelled ‘observation lounge' thoughtfully equipped with a library, and indulgent accessories that include vintage dinnerware, one-of-a-kind ceramics, and soft designer textiles.
Enjoy morning coffee on the patio (furnished with plenty of cushions!) as the sun rises over the glowing rocks, then why not join Julia, Michael and their dog Bella for a morning hike before the desert sunshine takes hold?
If you prefer doing your own thing, just jump in the car and head for downtown Chatsworth, a mere three miles away. If you're up for a slightly longer drive, you can head for the bright lights of Hollywood, star-studded LA, and those incredible Malibu beaches. Oh - and you can reach Disneyland in around 2 hours, too.
Closer to home, you can indulge in some world-class rock climbing, and immerse yourselves in the local nature. Gypsy borders on pristine wildlife habitat and wild animals roam the area, so who knows just whom you'll spot?
The gazebo is available from May 1-October 31 only. July 15-September 15 expect high temps in the 100-108 range at mid-day. Access is off the beaten track, along a steep paved road. You must be a driver with your own car. There are 5 local watch-dogs in the neighbourhood, all of which are fenced in. Absolutely no smoking or vaping permitted due to extreme fire hazards in the local area. No parties.
