Joshua Tree Dome House

A stylish and creative Californian dome retreat with a hot tub, featuring jaw-dropping, 360-degree sky-and-desert views.

Inspired by the designs of the famed architect, poet, and philosopher Buckminster ‘Bucky' Fuller (the original inventor of the geodesic dome) the Joshua Tree Dome House cuts an impeccably stylish dash in the desert.

Surrounded by native trees and plants, and located just a short distance from the Joshua Tree National Park itself, the natural light-filled dome sleeps up to eight guests in four luxurious double bedrooms.

Every window showcases those amazing, ever-changing views, while inside you'll be greeted by carefully chosen vintage furnishings, muted colours, and an eclectic range of art and accessories sourced from around the world. Combined with the dome's soaring ceilings and angled walls, you'll feel as though you've stepped straight into the pages of a high-end style magazine.

Enjoy whipping up feasts in the well-equipped kitchen, furnished with many eclectic details that promise to capture your imagination as you cook!  

Once you've enjoyed breaking bread at the eight-person dining table, you'll find the sociable seating area furnished with an indoor fire pit to help warm your evenings (there's even a guitar on hand, just in case anyone's in a musical mood - the dome's natural acoustics make for a captivating performance!)

The master bedroom suite is downstairs too, including a double-sink-equipped bathroom with a piping hot shower.  

Take the gorgeous spiral staircase to access the remaining three double bedrooms; each one individually styled and furnished for downy comfort. You'll discover an indulgent two-sink bathroom on this floor, too, while the windows and skylights open up that huge sky, for an amazing indoor stargazing experience.

But if you prefer sunset-watching and stargazing outside instead, you're in luck. There's a bubbling jacuzzi hot tub waiting for you, surrounded by magical fairy lights and vast, unspoilt expanses of desert and sky.  

Simply add a glass or two of bubbles, and you're all set.

While it'll be blissfully easy to feel as though you're the only people in the desert during your stay, you're closer to civilisation than you think! There's a bustling creative scene close by, populated with natural art projects, independent shops, an organic farmers' market... and the famous Pappy & Harriet's Pioneertown Palace, a fabulous honky-tonk music bar and restaurant with a lively atmosphere.

(Not forgetting that even more famous National Park, which is just five minutes away by car!)

Yet if all you wanted to do was to stay at dome, watching the abundant desert wildlife going about their day - well, we wouldn't blame you one bit.

Things to note

Check in after 3pm, check out by 11am. Small dogs may be permitted by prior arrangement, an additional cleaning fee will apply. Please note that the house is not child-proofed, so may not be suitable for younger guests. No smoking, parties, or events.
