A sumptuous collection of eco-cabins, set amongst the vineyards of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, for a wine-lovers' paradise!
  • Sleeps: 2-6 per cabin
  • Bedrooms: Varies
  • Bathrooms: 1 per cabin
  • Minimum stay: 1 night

As you arrive at Coucoo Grands Cépages (that’s “great grapes” in English), you’re sure to feel that this is where the good life actually lives.

Just over twelve miles from the medieval city of Avignon, the 15 cabins you’ll find here are nestled in France’s Vaucluse region.  Well-known for its wine production, you’ll be surrounded by soothing vines that make the great Châteauneuf-du-Pape – so that’s very good company indeed!

You’ll have three types of cabin to choose from, each one perfectly unique, and designed by an Italian architect. Some float gently on the water, while some stand proudly on stilts amongst the trees. Others have more of a ‘storybook’ feel, covered in lush greenery that’ll make you feel like you have wandered into a fairytale.

The innovative floating huts are exclusively for couples. Accessed by boat or pontoon, they are not just beautiful, but eco-friendly. The raised and ‘green’ cabins are also available in larger sizes that are ideal for families (sleeping up to 5 or 6 people) – so everybody can enjoy the fun and relaxation on offer here.

Whichever type of cabin you decide upon, you can luxuriate in snuggly beds, a private bathroom with shower, cool air conditioning, and your very own lounge area to relax in. The raised cabins are also home to dock hammocks on the terraces…an ideal spot to curl up with a good book.

(Though if you’re in the mood for some extra luxury, why not upgrade to a spa cabin, which includes a chemical-free Nordic bath, all to yourselves?)

In the mood for a swim? Take a dip in the sparkling biological infinity pool on site…then simply grab a poolside lounger and dry off in the sun!

More information

After a sound night’s sleep, enjoy the contents of your tasty, locally-sourced breakfast basket as you plan the day ahead.

Wine tasting is a must, of course, and you can arrange a trip to the Mayard family vineyards to sample some of the very best.  Who could miss out on the chance to sip fine wine, from the comfort of a 17th century castle cellar in the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape itself?

You could also plan a trip to the Palace of the Popes in nearby Avignon, the largest and most breathtaking Gothic building of the Middle Ages. Oh, and if you’re after something a little different, how about a trip to the Floating Market of L’Isle sur la Sorgue?

But if all that sounds a little too much, you can always take a long, soothing nature walk, or while away some time fishing instead.  The choice is blissfully yours to make.
