Bobbing proudly and peacefully in Amsterdam-Noord is the vibrant red Lightship Amsterdam, a historic ship offering luxurious accommodation for two.

Perfectly moored just minutes away from the iconic city centre, you can relax in a sumptuous on-board suite… that was designed by one of the country’s leading architects.

The lightship itself was built in the early 1950s, completing many years of faithful service before being decommissioned decades later. The ship’s resulting restoration has stayed beautifully true to its history, whilst adding a wealth of contemporary elements that are sure to leave you open-mouthed.

Step aboard via your own private entrance, and into your upper store suite – which was once the lightship’s storage room.

The first thing you’ll notice will be the breath-taking expanses of both space and light, surrounded by reflective glass, opulent furnishings, and indulgent touches that include a huge, gleaming bath in the corner of the room.

What else? There’s a ridiculously comfortable kingsize bed to snuggle up in, along with a minibar, a pantry, and a dining table to sit at together, watching the world go by. You’ll also have a spacious bathroom, equipped with a large shower, sink, and WC.

For the very best in local scenery, head outside to the front deck, which masquerades as a stunning terrace and viewing platform that showcases the industrial city and lighthouse to perfection.
