Grand Daddy Airstream Trailer Park

Seven gleaming, individually-styled airstreams secluded at the top of Cape Town's iconic city centre hotel.
  • Sleeps: 2 per airstream
  • Bedroom: 1 per airstream
  • Bathroom: 1 per airstream
  • Minimum stay: 2 nights

Originally built in 1874, Grand Daddy Boutique Hotel is a much-loved, iconic heritage building in the heart of Cape Town’s thriving Long Street.

The proud home of South Africa’s one-and-only rooftop Airstream trailer park, if you’re looking for a unique holiday experience that buzzes with life and energy, here it is!

Your journey begins as you step into Grand Daddy’s vintage elevator – the oldest operational elevator in Cape Town, we might add – and head straight for the roof.

Seven authentic, air-conditioned American Airstream trailers will be waiting to greet you there, each one equipped with a queen bed, a wet room with shower and toilet, and those all-important accessories… a TV and a bar fridge. Reflecting the stunning Table Mountain landscape in their polished exteriors, the Airstreams are a genuine sight to behold.

Though each gorgeously glinting trailer was shipped directly from the good ol’ US of A, you’ll find each one individually styled and furnished to evoke a typical South African road trip. In fact, the only problem you’ll have is choosing which location you want to visit most!

The largest Airstream is inspired by the Cape Winelands, in a genuine grape escape that will make you feel like opening a bottle of the region’s finest.

Always fancied going on safari? Then choose the colourful trailer that evokes the windswept wilderness of the Madikwe Game reserve, complete with an outdoor shower. If you prefer a beach holiday, you’ll find one Airstream decked in seaside style that’s reminiscent of the village of Hermanus – a whale-watching hot-spot loved by artists, foodies and surfers.
