Blazing golden sunsets become even more beautiful when viewed from the magnificent elevated platform offered by High Trodigal, a natural stone cottage built into the hillside itself. Stunningly surrounded by the ancient hills of Kintyre, discover High Trodigal in the windswept village of Macrihanish, on the west coast of Scotland.

The perfect setting for two (plus the dogs), High Trodigal is the ideal retreat if you’re looking for romantic seclusion, without compromising on a shred of luxury in the process.

Constructed in clean-lined Neolithic design, the single-storey cottage is built from natural stone, with a turfed roof that blends beautifully with its rugged surroundings, and featuring truly breathtaking views that look out over the Atlantic Ocean.

Enter your new holiday home, and marvel at the intricacy of its design, with stunning beamed ceilings, wooden flooring and careful attention to detail throughout. Original works by local artists adorn the walls, for an inspired touch of creativity that adds to the stylish beauty of your surroundings.

The spacious living area features a wall of windows that overlook the ocean, the Western isles of Islay, Jura and Gigha, and both of the famous Machrihanish golf courses. Binoculars are thoughtfully provided; a real treat as you cradle a mug of fresh coffee and savour the amazing views. Separate doors lead from both the living area and the bedroom, out to two patio areas and a lawned garden that make for the perfect viewing platforms if uninterrupted storm, star and sunset-watching are your idea of heaven!

Relax for a while on the large, cosy sofas and get lost in a good book…perhaps accompanied by a snifter of local Springbank whisky, provided in your locally-sourced welcome basket? Later on, underfloor heating and a solid fuel stove will ensure you’re kept cosy even as the waves crash romantically against the stormy shore below.

The kitchen and dining areas are welcoming and well-equipped, featuring large windows and a table with comfortable chairs…ideal for chatting your holiday away over a romantic feast or two.
