Literally meaning “riverside” in Welsh, get ready to fall head over heels in love with Glan yr Afon, a two-bedroom cottage dating from the 18th century and perfectly located in rural South Ceredigion.

From the moment you arrive at this incredibly pretty limewashed cottage with its thatched roof, you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped refreshingly back in time.  Breathe in pure, clean air, listen to the rustling trees and watch kites soar overhead as you marvel at your good fortune!

Set by a babbling brook (faster-flowing in Winter!) in a secluded valley and with its own private gardens, Glan yr Afon is a wonderful base for you to experience all the natural delights of West Wales, with the Wales Coastal Path, clean beaches and the unpolluted, dolphin-populated sea close by.

You are welcome to bring your well-behaved dog -Llangrannog & Cwmtydu are both dog-friendly beaches,

You can expect plenty of comfort inside your respectfully restored cottage, with original materials used throughout and the roof insulated with toasty sheep’s wool. Standout features, including the original quarry tiled floor and solid oak worktops, blend perfectly with your surroundings, while contemporary creature comforts including dimmable lights, dishwasher and cosy beds with memory foam mattresses make for a deliciously relaxing stay.

The double-height living area feels wonderfully luxurious, with its exposed roof beams, inglenook fireplace and oil burning stove.  Snuggle up and chat the evening away on the squishy sofas…and if you get bored, the Smart TV and a thoughtful selection of books and games will help you out!

If you’d rather curl up with a good book, simply take the ladder to the traditional Welsh crog loft, a snug reading area furnished with an armchair, a stacked bookshelf and a soft beanbag sofa.
