An historic, architect-designed retreat for two, rich in indulgent luxury and set on an imposing 25,000-acre Norfolk estate.
  • Sleeps: 2
  • Bedroom: 1
  • Bathroom: 1
  • Minimum stay: 3 nights

Designed by the famed architect William Kent back in the 18th century, The Triumphal Arch was originally intended to impress travellers passing through the Holkham Estate to the North Norfolk Coast.

Today, you’ll feel every bit as impressed as those ancient travellers, as you arrive on the estate to be greeted by this truly unique retreat for two. Still boasting all those former charms, the interior has been redesigned and renovated to provide the ultimate in romantic luxury.

Surrounded by historic park and woodland designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you can immerse yourselves in panoramic views from each side of the estate’s avenue, whilst relaxing in boutique comfort.

Your accommodation is spaced over three levels, starting with the welcoming open-plan kitchen and dining area on the ground floor.  With its stone floors, original fireplace, and grand high ceiling, it’s easy to imagine yourselves as lords and ladies from times past!  Better still, the kitchen is equipped with all the mod-cons you’ll need to whip up a romantic supper – and there’ll be a goodie-stuffed welcome hamper to greet you, too.

Head up the spiral staircase to the stylish shower room, and slightly further to the real jewel in the crown…a gorgeous top-floor living area with an open fire, and a bedroom that features a four-poster kingsize bed…and an opulent cast-iron roll top bath!

With your bed facing a window, morning views will be wondrously far-reaching as you wake from your sound night’s sleep. Head outside to the garden as you cradle your morning coffee, excitedly planning out the rest of your day together.

You could begin by wandering through those amazing Holkham Estate grounds. Home to Holkham Hall, you may feel you’ve seen some of the elegant scenery before (and if you’ve watched The Duchess, a 2008 film starring Keira Knightley and Ralph Fiennes, you have!)
