Get yourself good and locked up, in a historic New Brunswick prison that's both authentic and surprisingly comfortable!
  • Sleeps: 2
  • Bedroom: 1
  • Bathroom: Shared
  • Minimum stay: 1 night

Originally built in 1875, Dorchester Jail still retains its solemn and imposing atmosphere, with long, echoing corridors, and twelve ‘cells’ that now masquerade as cosy bedrooms.

Located in New Brunswick, this is the only provincial jail in Canada that you can stay the night in, and you don’t even have to have committed a crime to do it.

Suitable for 1-2 guests, it’s a snug fit inside your minimalist cell (but then, it is a cell!)  Expect the trademark bare walls and barred windows, as you imagine what it must have been like to have been locked up there for real, all those years ago.

After a hearty breakfast (provided), why not take a tour of the whole jail, and learn more about its fascinating history?  It’s not every day you get yourself thrown in prison, after all.

But if your jailer does decide to unlock the door at any point, you’ll find you’re conveniently close to both the city of Moncton, and the majestic Hopewell Rocks.
