If you’re aching to unplug your laptop and leave your phone at home for a change, an off-grid glamping break at Fisherton Farm’s Vintage Vardos is just the excuse you’ve been looking for.

Featured on the popular Channel 4 show George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces, you’ll know you’re in for a special stay from the moment you arrive on the 100-acre North Devon working farm.  After all, this is a uniquely characterful, romantic Commu-filled setting, and as you follow the vintage tractor to your vardo (a traditional, intricately decorated bow-top gypsy wagon), you’ll feel like you’ve just stepped into a refreshing new world.

There are three lovingly restored, individually-styled vardos to choose from,  plus a quirky 1960s tip-up trailer for groups of up to 8 adults and 6 additional children. You’ll find them all nestled in a privately secluded meadow, right next to a babbling stream and idyllic woodland…what better way to unwind!

Each vardo is equipped with soft towels, downy bedding, solar lighting and fresh flowers (who said off-grid glamping couldn’t be luxurious too?)  There’s also a traditional wash bowl and plenty of storage, plus truly exquisite, original décor that will soothe your soul and make you smile.

At over 100 years old, traditionally-styled Big Ted is ideal if you’re looking for an authentic wagon stay, and sleeps up to four people in comfort.

Earthy Red Rum, meanwhile, dates back to the 1940s and is ideal for two or three  You’ll find a crackling woodburner, sheepskins and plenty of rich colour here.

Little Gem is a funky, firm favourite, offering a range of versatile sleeping options, and finally there’s Tippin, an original 1960s tip-up trailer packed with board games and cosy bedding.
