Perfectly secluded in seven lush acres of Welsh countryside, you’ll discover everything you need for a self-catering holiday to remember.  First up are the exceptional views of the Vrynwy valley which can be absorbed even as you relax in bed as you listen to the soothing sounds of your friendly neighbourhood birds and sheep.

The Sleepout itself has been designed with comfort and beauty built right in, handcrafted from unusual, individually sourced wood by its owner Mike, resident ‘Man of the Woods’ – a professional tree surgeon and qualified mountain leader.

Sleeping two people, the cabin features a warming wood-burning stove with plenty of all-important firewood available to keep you cosy all the way through your stay…why not snuggle up with a mug of something steaming after a hard day of adventure, surrounded by the soft, tranquil glow from the candle lanterns?

There’s a comfy giant double bed right at the back of the Sleepout, accessed by a small ladder. For an extra touch of holiday luxury, you can also treat yourself to a well-stocked breakfast basket full of fresh local produce, for your first morning.

Next to the cabin you’ll find a well-equipped camp kitchen with a hand-made pizza oven, gas burner and exquisite, bespoke-crafted wooden sink.  The fire bowl is perfect for toasting some marshmallows to go alongside a mug of creamy hot chocolate!

A compost Treebog toilet can be found 30 paces away from the Sleepout, and there’s also a separate shower pod with plenty of gas-powered, piping hot water and fluffy towels to revive and rejuvenate your senses.

What the guests of The Sleepout at Sunny Lea say

“Thank you
Rachel and Mike for having us spend our honeymoon here, it was absolutely
perfect – we don’t want to leave!  We
have had the most relaxing time, waking up to the birds singing and the
spectacular view. The pizza oven has been used every day- we might build one at
home we love it that much! The Sleepout totally exceeded our expectations,
there are so many thoughtful things, we absolutely loved it. It will be a break
we will never forget and hope to come back again  – maybe our first anniversary, who knows? Thank you so much!”

“By far one
of our best weekend getaways yet! Drove up from Portsmouth and it was worth it!
You truly have thought of everything. Love the guitar, books honesty pot, pizza
oven fire pit and much more! We took a trip out to [Powys Castle and took the
short walk to view the valley. See you again!”
Cat and Mike

“Thank you
for creating such a beautiful space for us to enjoy. The woodwork on this place
is outstanding!! Highlights have been Lake Vyrnwy, the unbelievable view to
wake up to each morning, cider, bonfires and sunsets and daily visits from a
baby bunny and a friendly pheasant. The weather was a bit miserable one day so
we cancelled our plans and stayed at the Sleepout for the day drinking lots of
tea, loading up the log burner and playing games. We still really enjoyed our
day! Thank you once again.”
