Happy Valley Glamping Retreat
Three hand-crafted shepherd's huts and a whimsical bell tent await at this enchanting woodland glamping retreat.
Nestled in Norfolk in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Happy Valley couldn't be better named. A stay at this tranquil glamping retreat is all you need to relax and rejuvenate, and replace any worries with a smile and a satisfied sigh.
Hand-crafted shepherd's huts and a whimsical bell tent await among towering trees. Situated within a Wildlife Trust-designated site, there's surely no better way to get back to nature and feel at one with the world. And with a host of villages and the North Norfolk Coast all within easy reach, you have all the best bits of this beautiful county to explore too.
Each of the three gorgeous shepherd's huts at Happy Valley has been beautifully built to offer dreamy accommodation for two. Each one features a real bed with fresh linen (no roll-up mats here!), and is overflowing with rustic charm and character.
The King Nutkin Shepherd's Hut offers a romantic woodland escape, with a king size bed and traditional wood burner to keep you warm as you cuddle up! The kitchenette makes simple self-catering easy, with a useful fridge, a toaster, a hob, and all your cutlery and crockery. Your own private deck wraps around the hut, and comes complete with a seating area for dining under the trees. And with a hot tub arriving in 2017, there's no better recipe for a romantic evening under the stars.
Denver Rest offers a cute and cosy hideaway, featuring a comfy double bed and the perfect amount of space for two. On a smaller scale than King Nutkin, your kitchenette is found in a cleverly crafted outdoor cooking area at the side of your hut - perfect for summer catering! A table and chairs for two wait on your private deck, while a BBQ and tree-stump seating area sit conveniently nearby. And if there are more of you to stay, why not hire nearby Tawny Hut too to double up? With a super-comfy super king bed, it's the perfect way for groups or a family to enjoy Happy Valley.
Another option for couples or families is the Queenie Bell Tent, which sleeps four between a real double bed and two single camping mattresses. Again, you can enjoy the luxury of your own outdoor space and seating, as well as a BBQ. With the option to hire Queenie Bell Tent alone or add it to a shepherd's hut, you can design your own perfect getaway.
To make your stay even more luxurious, why not select from a choice of hampers on arrival, or even arrange for a chef to come and cook for you one evening? BBQ packs can also be ordered, as can breakfast packs, complete with chipolatas, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, bread, butter, milk, and jam. Bespoke food options can also be put together on your request.
If you don't feel like cooking, you're spoilt for choice with a range of excellent gastropubs and village pubs in easy distance. Highlights include The Three Horse Shoes at Congham, The Dabbling Duck at Massingham, and The Crown Inn at Rudham. Kings Lynn is just 10 minutes away, with the Bank House and Market Bistro to sample, and if you need any more foodie tipoffs, owner Katy is very happy to provide them!
Of course, it's not just about fantastic local produce in Norfolk. Explore the local area on foot or on bike (hire one from Happy Valley for just £5 per day). With Congham Heath as your back garden, you can make it all the way to the village of Congham without ever encountering a road.
From countryside to sea breezes, the North Norfolk Coast is just 25 minutes away, featuring gorgeous beaches including Brancaster, Old Hunstanton and Wells-next-the-Sea, while the famous Sandringham Estate is just five miles away. If that all seems too much though, you can always relax back at Happy Valley with a range of holistic therapies from a registered practitioner, or find your Zen with a spot of yoga.
When all you need is the time and space to chill, to take a breather from life, Happy Valley is waiting for you. Surrounded by nature and in such gorgeous accommodation, how could you feel anything else but happy?
