Wellhayes Barn, a former hay barn lovingly transformed into a luxurious cottage for four, is the perfect setting for a heavenly journey into all the delights of nature – whilst still only a few moments from bustling Lyme Regis and Bridport.

You’ll find a large terrace and a private suntrap here, perfect for making the most of long summer evenings with your favourite people.  The cottage is adjacent to a sparkling freshwater lake and surrounded by 15 acres of woodland, all true havens for wildlife.  Listen to the sound of ducks splashing in the water, or say hello to the passing deer from your window, with that blissful feeling of being truly “away from it all”.

The cottage itself blends beautifully with its surroundings, with a great deal of timber upcycled from the original barn structure to create innovative furnishings.  An oil-fired Aga warms the generous open-plan kitchen, dining and living space, complete with exposed beams and views over the lake towards the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Claim the first floor master bedroom for yourself, with its own woodburner and ensuite bathroom with freestanding bath set below a roof light.  The second bedroom boasts an ensuite shower room, so there’ll be no queues for freshening up in the morning!

If you’re in the mood to explore, the market town of Lyme Regis is just a few minutes away by car – or how about a mere 20 minute stroll to the nearest pub?  And we do mean ‘stroll’, because in a stunning place like this, who wants to feel rushed?
