Trelan Farm Cargo Cabin
Wales / Cilcain, Flintshire
Full description
A luxurious container-for-two, complete with a heavenly outdoor bath, surrounded by picture-perfect North Wales countryside.
Set within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you'll discover Trelan Farm in the bracing foothills of Moel Famau, a popular peak for walkers, hikers, and lovers of the Great Outdoors alike.
The Cargo Cabin is set within the friendly, 150-acre beef and sheep farm; a stunningly refurbished, endlessly romantic retreat-for-two. Surrounded by peaceful countryside, the scene is wonderfully set for rest and relaxation amongst nature at its most glorious.
Boasting a gorgeous wood clad exterior, and packed with creative style, you might find it hard to believe that your cosy space was once a shipping container! Decorated in warm tones, and flooded with daylight from huge windows, the open plan layout features a squishy corner sofa that cleverly converts into a bed when you need it.
You'll find the stylish kitchen full of conveniences, from a microwave, fridge, and gas hob, to cupboards housing those all-important teas and coffee. You'll even have your own charming dining area, ideal for romantic suppers (just add candlelight!) Fire up the Bluetooth speakers to help you set the perfect background mood.
Proving that you don't have to rough it when you're staying on a farm, there's even a lovely en-suite, complete with a refreshing shower and a ‘proper' flushing loo.
But if you prefer bathing al fresco, the beautiful bath you'll discover on the terrace - complete with lavender-scented bubbles and surrounded by wildflowers - will take your stay to a whole new level of luxury!
After a sound night's sleep and a steaming mug of morning coffee on the terrace, why not get to know the farm and its residents a little better? The surrounding fields are buzzing with cows and sheep, and you'll find the owners are more than happy to show you around. Perhaps you'll even receive an introduction to Alma, their friendly Shetland pony.
Meanwhile, there are plenty of fresh herbs available for you to pick (they make great cocktail garnishes!) and if you'd like to keep the birds happy and chirping, you can simply top up the feeders you'll find around the farm site.
If you're in the mood to wander, how about a walk to the local pub, The White Horse Inn, just a mile away? Not only is the food excellent, but as a guest of Trelan Farm, you'll get a 10% discount.
The spectacular North Wales coastline is a half-hour drive away, for those who'd prefer to jump in the car, and it's an hour to Snowdon National Park and its wealth of natural attractions. But if you're after a spot of retail therapy, peppered with coffee stops, then you won't go wrong with a trip to the walled city of Chester, just 30 minutes away.
Or of course, you could always choose to stay put, simply cosying up in your comfortable cabin with a good book, and the one you love.
Things to note
From September 2021, check in/out days are: Mon, Wed, Fri and Sun only. Minimum 2 night stays except Sundays which are one night. Discount applies for stays Fri-Mon. Check in between 3pm - 9pm, check out by 10am. Trelan Farm is a working beef and sheep farm, so regrettably pets are not permitted.
