Full description
A cosy, off-grid hillside retreat with magnificent views of the Border Hills, complete with a wood-fired hot tub, neighbouring red deer, and your very own lochan.

Outrageously scenic and sumptuously secluded, you'll discover Tiny Home Borders nestled on the southern slopes of ancient Ruberslaw, a conical hill on the banks of the River Teviot.

Part of a friendly family farm, you'll be surrounded by rolling, red-deer-dotted hills as far as the eye can see, with a stunning deck that looks out over your very own lochan (a small, shimmering loch) to the Rule Valley beyond.

Inspired by the owners' passion for travel, the dog-friendly eco-cabin itself has been lovingly - and uniquely - crafted, using a former bale trailer as its base.

Inside awaits plenty of space-saving, clean-lined Nordic style, together with a welcome host of creature comforts. Solar-powered lighting and electricity means there'll be no compromising on holiday conveniences, and there's a gorgeous wood-burning stove to warm your evenings.

(There's no TV or Wi-Fi, because who needs digital distractions when you're in such a beautiful and tranquil part of the world?)

Meanwhile, fluffy towels, robes and slippers add an indulgent sense of luxury, whether you're enjoying a quick freshen-up in the shower, or savouring a long sunset soak in the Swedish wood-fired hot tub out on your deck.

While there's a full gas cooker inside, on balmy evenings why not linger outside for supper... with a little help from Greta, the al fresco cooker, barbecue and pizza oven? If you're in the mood for a special treat, you'll even have the option of purchasing some mouth-watering farm-reared venison, beef, or lamb.

And when it's finally time to tear yourselves away from the stars in that vast, clear night sky, you can simply curl up in the double bed, and drift off into a dreamy night's sleep.

Enjoy morning coffee out your deck to a calming soundtrack of nature, or why not wake yourselves up with a spot of wild swimming in your lochan? If you're feeling more adventurous, there are two paddle boards available, too.

Breakfast packs can be ordered if you're in the mood for a morning banquet - just the ticket if you're planning to take an exhilarating nature walk. Ruberslaw itself boasts exceptional views from the top, and at 424m, they'll be well-earned!

You could also take a trip into nearby Jedburgh, a quaint market town that's brimming with historic tales. Visit Mary Queen of Scots House, or the ruined 12th century Augustinian abbey, for some fascinating ways to while away your time.

Also close by is the village of Denholm, which is home to friendly, food-serving pubs. Just the places to hole yourselves up in on rainy afternoons, before returning to your beloved Tiny Home for another sublime evening in.

Things to note

Access to the Tiny Home is gained by a track that's 500 metres from the road. If you prefer, you can leave your car near the road and walk, or the owners will give you a lift. Up to 2 well-behaved are permitted to stay, for a small additional charge per dog. There is a good mobile signal with 4G on some networks.
