The Tree House
England / Near Tetbury, Gloucestershire
Full description
A luxurious tree-treat for two, expertly handcrafted and sumptuously nestled in the vast, leafy grounds of a historic manor house in the rolling Cotswold hills.
When you arrive at The Tree House, the first thing you're likely to notice is the luxurious attention to detail that makes a romantic break in the Cotswolds so special.
Beautifully crafted from oak and cedar by artisan carpenters, you'll find the unique and stylish A-frame retreat peacefully nestled in the whispering trees, on the private 25-acre grounds of a 17th century manor house, near the ancient town of Tetbury.
Take the flight of wooden steps, to be greeted by a sheltered porch on a glorious, scenery-showcasing wraparound deck that's perfect for morning coffee and evening cocktails alike.
Then, through the hand-carved oak door awaits warm, exquisitely crafted wood and sumptuous furnishings, specifically designed to help you breathe out and relax.
On chilly evenings, light the log burner for an irresistible glow, then snuggle on the sofa in front of the amazing Samsung ‘The Frame' 55" TV... which cleverly doubles as artwork when switched off. There's a Bluetooth speaker, too, ready and waiting to help you set the perfect mood.
Of course, when the sun is shining you'll want to throw open the trifold doors and invite the outside in, or why not head out to the deck and loll on the chaise longue sofa for a while? Fire up the barbecue for a sizzling sunset supper, or freshen up in the invigorating al fresco shower; the ideal pick-me-up after an exhausting nature hike.
If you prefer indoor catering, you'll find the gleaming stainless-steel-and-granite wonderfully equipped for feasts of just about every description. You'll find the opulent bathroom downstairs, too, with an indulgent freestanding bath positioned right in front of the bi-fold doors (there are remote-control blinds, in case you're worried about inquisitive birds!)
When you can't keep your eyes open for a moment longer, you'll discover a magnificent ‘secret hideaway' bedroom in The Tree House's vaulted upper level, cosily equipped with Lutron mood lighting.
Simply head up the hand-carved spiral staircase, which wraps beautifully around a tree trunk, to your downy kingsize bed, positioned for you to savour mesmerising treetop views from the triangular window. Curl up in the pure French linen bedding, and drift off to a dreamy night's sleep.
What to do when you wake up? Well, you'll have access to the wider estate grounds, complete with a sundowner deck and a firepit that overlooks the pond. You could also take a captivating circular walk through the Lasborough and Ozelworth Valleys, starting right from your front door.
If you'd rather let someone else prepare lunch or dinner, The Hunter's Hall Inn is a mere 20-minute ramble away, and there's plenty to do in the surrounding area, from wine tasting and antiquing to a day at the races.
What more could any self-respecting holidaymaker possibly need?
Things to note
Minimum 3-night stay. Check in from 4pm, check out by 10am. The Tree House is adults-only. One small dog is permitted to stay, at a small extra cost.
