The Old Vicarage Huts
Wales / Moylegrove, Pembrokeshire
Full description
Rest your head in a blissful birch hut full of warmth, set on the outrageously scenic North Pembrokeshire coastline.
Exploring Pembrokeshire, with its combination of windswept coastline, sandy beaches and lush rural land, is an invigorating delight at the best of times. Combined with a stay at The Old Vicarage, in a beautiful birch hut set within an acre of greenery, your escape is elevated to a fresh new level.
Set in the peaceful and scenic village of Moylegrove, you'll find The Old Vicarage just a pebble skim away from the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. Friendly and family-run, the emphasis here is on care and comfort, meaning you'll feel warmly welcomed just as soon as you arrive.
Rest your heads in the lovingly restored B&B, or to feel even more at one with nature, while away your time in the birch hut. Surrounded by a sweet scented edible garden and whispering trees, the views will lead you through hedgerows, across the valley and out towards the sea.
Every last detail has been carefully thought out, with the intention of leaving you to relax and enjoy your surroundings. A bespoke birch ply kitchen - and a welcome hamper of fresh eggs, hot drinks and homemade bread - mean you can enjoy breakfast at your leisure, while the two-person hammock and fire pit means sunset watching and stargazing are more than covered.
When it's time to turn in, you'll find a sumptuous king-sized bed waiting, dressed in Egyptian cotton and plump pillows. Meanwhile, your private bathroom is equipped with plenty of fluffy towels and local toiletries.
If you'd prefer someone else to do the cooking, owner Meg is very happy to cater for you - just let her know! Delicious, locally sourced breakfasts, evening meals and drinks in the main house can all be arranged with notice. Otherwise, simply help yourselves to vegetables, herbs and fruit from the edible garden to help you whip up tasty self-catered feasts.
If you're new to Pembrokeshire, you'll find owners Meg and Jaap a wealth of local information. They will be more than happy to guide you in the right directions, and will even help arrange restaurant bookings at some of the best places around (if you ask nicely, they will even arrange transport for you).
If you'd rather follow your own path, the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park - Britain's only coastal National Park - is a fantastic place to begin. Here you'll find award-winning beaches, ancient mountains, sparkling lakes and fresh, wooded valleys that make up some of the most spectacular landscapes you'll ever see.
There are a wealth of activities to enjoy on the doorstep too, so working up the appetite for a hearty evening meal will be ridiculously easy! Choose from mountain walking and pony trekking, to swimming and dolphin-watching...the list really is endless.
Explore and indulge to your hearts' content, safe in the knowledge that you'll have a true sanctuary to return to in the form of your cosy birch hut. Crack open a bottle of wine and toast a few marshmallows as the sun sets over the hedgerows...it's time for some much-needed rejuvenation!
Things to note
Check-in is between 4-7pm and check out is 10am. Strictly no smoking. Dogs may be permitted upon prior arrangement, at a cost of £15 per dog per stay.
