Full description
An exquisite 1920s train carriage, styled and furnished for grown-up comfort amidst the serene Devon countryside.

Discover the Norwegian Bluebell, an immaculate 1920s railway carriage, in pride of place by the platform at Devon's Hole Station, surrounded by soothing countryside and featuring woodland views across a beautiful wildflower meadow.

Better still, you can enjoy these stunning views without worrying about missing your stop...since Hole Station closed back in 1965.  These days, it's been lovingly transformed into an expansive wildlife conservation project - complete with friendly goats, horses and free-range chickens!

The site is adults-only, meaning it's the ideal setting for parents to take some well-deserved time out amongst nature - plus it's the perfect excuse to dust off your bikes and whizz your way through the famous, traffic-free Tarka Cycle Trail.

You'll find the teak-clad Norwegian Bluebell perfectly restored and renovated for contemporary comfort, complete with two en-suite bedrooms (one double, and one twin), WiFi, and even a Netflix-equipped PC.

Furnished in charming vintage style throughout, you'll feel as though you've stepped right back to gentle times past. The sitting room is equipped with irresistibly squishy sofas, while the combined kitchen and dining room features a table that looks out over those amazing views - a perfect accompaniment to that hearty breakfast.

Prefer to dine al fresco? Simply light the log fire, then prepare the fire bowl and grill for a sizzling supper on your private platform seating area. If you're in need of supplies, simply head for the local farm shop to grab a mouthwatering barbecue pack.

Of course, you might just decide to give cooking for yourself a miss while you're away...and who could blame you for that?  Luckily, you'll find plenty of dining options in the local area, from the on-site café, to the friendly local pubs and restaurants.

(The nearest pub is a mere 20-minute stroll through some of the loveliest countryside you'll see - plus it serves great food!)

Spend lazy summer days as they really should be spent, stretched out on the beach! The closest are Bude and Widemouth Bay, both easily reached within a 45 minute drive...and there are several more to explore along that glorious North Devon and North Cornwall coastline. Otherwise, why not head to nearby Dartmoor for an invigorating nature experience that's not easily forgotten?

Of course, you could always opt for wandering through the surrounding acres of meadow and woodland you'll find on site.  Just don't forget to greet the animals on your way - because we've got a hunch that you'll be booking a return journey aboard the Norwegian Bluebell sometime soon.
