A deliciously cosy designer cabin with hot tub, encased in natural luxury and secluded in the beautiful Devon countryside.
Far away from the beaten Devon tourist track, you'll find The Nap peacefully and privately located on a small working farm, with magnificent rural views across the Taw Valley that stretch out to Exmoor.
Distractions are kept to a minimum here; no road access, no neighbours, no TV - just the sights and sounds of nature soothingly up close - and if you'd like to meet the rare-breed farm residents, friendly owners Adam and Becky are happy to take you on a guided tour.
Your immaculate cedar cabin was lovingly crafted by Adam himself, in high-end Scandi style that refuses to compromise on charm or luxury. Situated on a scenic hill in its own field, you'll feel cosseted from the rest of the world.
You'll find everything you could ever need inside The Nap, and much more besides. The well-equipped fitted kitchenette is a joy to spend time in, as you prepare delicious country feasts (for a mouthwatering treat, you can buy rare breed sausages, pork belly and cuts of beef directly from the farm).
Later on, the firepit, situated down the hill, is a must for marshmallow toasting, and the wood-fired hot tub begs to be accompanied by bubbles as you look up at the shimmering blanket of stars above.
Back inside, the Swedish woodburner will keep you toasty on the coolest of evenings, while on warmer days you can simply fold back the doors, sunbathe on the deck high above the valley below.
When you're finally done for the day, two sumptuous bedrooms await - one kingsize on the ground floor, and the other a mezzanine double. The wood-panelled bathroom is ideal for freshening up, equipped with a high tech compost toilet, a spacious shower, and plenty of fluffy towels.
While away some holiday time outside, as you let the kids and the dog run themselves all out of energy in the expansive green field. You're blissfully free to enjoy that book you've never quite got around to starting, or even start a conversation with the farm animals if you prefer!
As you might imagine, exhilarating walks are in abundance here, with recommended routes that start right from your front door. A few miles away lie a selection of top notch gastro pubs and shops, while surfers are in for a genuine treat in the form of those amazing North Devon beaches. Try Putsborough for the best surf around!
The famed Tarka Trail, the longest traffic-free cycle route in the UK, is nearby, along with the outstanding delights of both Exmoor and Dartmoor. Indulge in as much natural luxury as you can bear, then make your return to The Nap just in time to catch the blazing orange sunset. If you're lucky, you'll catch a glimpse of Nigel, the resident buzzard, circling overhead.
But then, you'll probably decide your luck was already in, right from the moment you chose to rest your weary heads at The Nap.
