The Majestic Bus
England / Brilley, Herefordshire
A blissful bus beautifully converted into soothing space perfect for living the natural life, surrounded by rolling hills and colourful flowers in hearty Herefordshire countryside.
Take your seats on the Majestic Bus, a unique, perfectly panoramic living space that represents natureful living at its finest, with refreshingly wonderful views both inside and out.
Featured on George Clarke's ‘Amazing Spaces' TV programme, and showcased in numerous publications including The Times, Cosmopolitan and the Sunday Telegraph, you'll soon find a stay aboard The Majestic Bus is exactly that!
Situated near bookish Hay-on-Wye in the Herefordshire countryside, you'll enjoy gorgeously green views, peppered with plenty of sweet-scented flowers, from the very moment you arrive at your stop. The lovingly converted 1960s Bedford Panorama bus accommodates eight people in total, with four sleeping on the bus and the other four camping outside in the fresh air.
It's not hard to see why George Clarke was so captivated by this bountiful bus! The décor is bright, light and charming throughout, with furniture and fittings that have been created from quality materials and fine attention to detail. In summer time you'll find fresh-cut garden flowers inside to brighten your days, whilst the wooden flooring, painted pine boarding and hand-built units will make you feel as though you're in a luxury hotel suite right in the middle of fresh countryside!
You'll find all you need inside to enjoy a relaxing stay, from a gas cooker and fridge for whipping up on-board feasts, to a woodburning stove to keep everybody toasty no matter what the weather decides to throw at you. You'll find a cosy double bed too, with a clever sofa that folds into an additional double if needed. There's no need to worry about your carbon footprint, either, with solar panels on the roof to provide lighting and electricity for charging devices.
As you're on holiday, why not venture out into the open, with a two-level decking area perfect for picnicking and stargazing alike (the low light pollution and dark skies here make it the perfect setting for this)! There are level grass areas around the bus where a tent can be pitched to accommodate larger groups, and you'll find a fire pit to huddle around and toast marshmallows as you sing campfire songs.
Your purpose-built bath-house-with-a-view awaits you just a few metres away from the bus, featuring an indulgent roll-top bath with shower over, a flushing toilet and a wood-burner, along with plenty of softly twinkling tea-lights...it's hard to imagine a bathing experience so rurally romantic!
Venturing out, you'll find you're perfectly positioned to enjoy the natural landscape of the Radnorshire Hills, with its thriving wildlife and plenty of footpaths to take you into unspoilt valleys and pastures. Offa's Dyke is just a few fields away, with plenty of historic markers to discover along your way.
There are plenty of places to visit nearby - perhaps start by travelling into Hay-on-Wye, the characterful market town full of bookshops, independent galleries and quirky cafes. You'll find plenty of events all year round (including the famous Hay Festival in May), and if you're in the mood to stretch your legs why not stroll along the Bailey Riverside walk to local conservation area The Warren, with its prettily picturesque beach?
Lovers of outdoor activity will find pursuits including canoeing, pony trekking, mountain biking and tennis in Hay-on-Wye, and for those who want to travel even further afield, the bracing Brecon Beacons National Park is just a half-hour drive away.
So don't miss your stop for The Majestic Bus, a seriously Amazing Space that will bring you back to nature in sensuous style!
