Boasting two mesmerising acres of idyllic Hampshire countryside, The Meadow is an idyllic glamping site that features a selection of lovingly restored retreats to help immerse your souls in nature.
Their latest addition is The Magic Rat, a glorious 23ft Springer narrowboat that once glided languorously along the Kennet and Avon Canal. Now beautifully restored to a recycled industrial theme, there’s plenty of fun, quirky comfort to be found on board, along with all the holiday luxuries you’d expect – including its very own six bottle wine cellar hidden below the water line.
The property is accessed via a rustic wooden bridge, crossing the lake in true fairytale style. Grab a coffee and gaze at the wildlife and the willow trees from your deck, or head back across the walkway onto your very own outdoor island. Here you’ll find the gorgeous restored shelter, ‘Mel’s Shack’, complete with bio ethanol burner and strewn with soft fairy lights to give your evenings an irresistible glow.
All that’s left to do is pour yourself a well-deserved glass of wine, light the huge cast iron outdoor fireplace, cosy up on the couch opposite and get to know one another all over again as dusk falls. Enjoy!
