Full description
A charmingly restored vintage train carriage with first class family accommodation, stopped in its very own ‘station' amongst picture-perfect West Sussex countryside.

Hop aboard Lowe Comotion to experience all the thrill and excitement of a railway journey in a first-class carriage, as you savour exquisite country scenery that doesn't whizz by in a blur!

Nestled in the peaceful Chichester settlement of Batchmere, you'll feel as though you've spirited your loved ones away to a deliciously ‘secret' place, where you can relax and reconnect in cosy comfort.

Certainly, your accommodation couldn't be lovelier. Soft, soothing vintage décor and quirky train signage will make you feel as though you're stepping into an elegant time capsule, yet there are plenty of modern touches to make holiday life that bit easier!

Accented by natural wood and light that streams in through a row of windows, the ‘First Class' living space features a glowing log burner, and a squishy sofa that cleverly transforms into single children's bunk beds by evening.

There's also a dining table and chairs, perfectly positioned by the windows, and an impossibly cute kitchenette, equipped with a kettle, a toaster, and that all-important microwave.

Head to the middle of the carriage to discover a luxurious, full-sized private bathroom with a vintage bathtub and a stack of fluffy towels, for an indulgent soak after a long day exploring the countryside.

Once you've settled in, why not spend some time nursing a steaming cuppa in the ‘station', a lush, spacious yard and patio furnished with comfy seating, and a barbecue for sizzling sunset suppers?

Chat the evening away, surrounded by nothing but the relaxing sights and sounds of the countryside, until the stars start to twinkle in the night sky... what bliss!

When you're finally finished talking and laughing with your loved ones, simply head for your cosy sleeper compartment, which features a downy, sumptuously dressed double bed with a vintage headboard.

After morning coffee and a hearty breakfast enjoyed al fresco, the day is all yours to enjoy! There's no rush, so you could simply bury your head in that book you never quite find time for at home, or watch the kids indulge their imaginations with games in the yard.

If you feel like exploring, there are plenty of fresh country walks that begin right from the ‘station', or how about heading for the windswept coast, instead? The beaches at Selsey, East Wittering, and Bracklesham Bay are all close by.

You could also get lost in the charms of the natural world, with a visit to Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve, before making your way back to your charming carriage for another gorgeously relaxed evening in.

Things to note

Check in from 4pm, check out by 10am. Please note that the sofa doubles up as single bunk beds for children only. Pet-friendly.

Tried and tested

"What a gem of a find! A lovely railway carriage with loads of great touches and details. Definitely first class. We had a grand time staying here and loved the birdsong as well as the rain on the roof when the weather let us down a bit! Woodburner ensured a cosy night was had and would definitely recommend to friends. Lovely private area with space for kids and dog!"

"What a fabulous use of space in a very unique setting! Our 4 year old son was super excited to be sleeping in a train and the hosts were very friendly and accommodating providing bbq coals and great recommendations of things to see in the local area. Only 5 miles from the beach of West Wittering which was lovely and sandy but also some great crabbing spots locally too. A fabulous stay in an idyllic spot - we can't wait to return!"

"Wow - what a unique and wonderful place - superbly converted 1870's railway carriage with so many thoughtful and stylish design details we hardly wanted to go out - but also couldn't resist the huge private lawn that comes with it - a huge hit with our over excited sheep dog! We were over excited to sleep in it. Never been happier to sit on a train carriage that's not moving!"
