The Lookers Legacy
England / Tenterden, Kent
Full description
A romantic escape to your very own corner of Kent countryside, with panoramic views across to Romney Marsh.
The Lookers Legacy is a stunningly renovated brick hut, built in the traditional style of ‘lookers' - people who would stay in the huts as they cared for their flocks of sheep.
As such, you can expect breathtaking countryside views from a private, prime position amongst green fields that seem to stretch out forever.
The cosy hut itself is ideal for a romantic escape (you can even bring the dog with you, if you like!) Enter through a gorgeous glass-vaulted hallway, then curl up in the soothing open-plan living area, which floods with light from double doors that look out over the distinctive landscape of Romney Marsh.
The Netflix-added TV will keep you entertained by evening, as you light the wood-burning stove and settle in.
Though you could also enjoy those amazing views al-fresco if you prefer, from the comfort of your secluded terrace - equipped with a luxurious hot tub!
As you unwind over a glass of wine, you'll note how traditional your surroundings feel, yet with plenty of contemporary mod cons, expert design, and luxurious attention to detail throughout.
There's a well-equipped kitchen area that features an electric oven and ceramic hob, as well as a Nespresso machine, and a dishwasher. Everything you need is there to whip up a delicious feast, then savour it at the cosy dining table for two.
When it's time to sleep, discover an irresistibly comfy kingsize bedroom with a huge picture window (what a way to wake up!) You'll find it hard to tear yourselves away from the en-suite shower room, with its original feature brick walls and indulgent, tiled drench shower - not to mention a toasty heated towel rail.
Laze in the garden over morning coffee, as you greet that amazing sunrise and plan out the day ahead. You may well not want to move all day long, but with so much to see and do right on the doorstep, that could be a shame!
For starters, there's a wealth of country walks to enjoy, which are ideal if you've brought your four-legged friend. In fact, why not wander along the dedicated footpath to the pet-friendly Ferry Inn - and enjoy some delicious seasonal Rye Bay Scallops while you're there?
Tenterden and Rye are close by, making for the perfect day trip, and the golden sands at Camber are within easy reach too.
As you head back to your rural bolthole at the end of a fun-filled day, you're sure to wish you could stay for a lot longer!
Things to note
Minimum 2 night stay, 1 medium sized or 2 small dogs permitted to stay upon prior arrangement. Please see more about this property's Covid-19 measures and FAQs here
