Full description
A seriously sumptuous Sussex treehouse, perched above soothing woodland close to the South Downs National Park.

If you thought treehouse living was the stuff of childhood escapades, get ready to upgrade your expectations with a stay at The Buzzardry.

Sleeping four guests in two en-suite bedrooms, this is rustic luxury taken to a whole new level. Perfectly perched on the edge of Sussex's High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you're guaranteed spectacular views over the surrounding lakes...but that's just for starters.

Wind your way up the spiral staircase, to be greeted by a stunning structure with cedar cladding, gently curved walls and high, extravagantly beamed ceilings. Well-placed angled windows mean you can gaze out over the leafy oak treetops to your hearts' content, while the large decked terrace - accessed through light-attracting double glass doors - is perfect for morning coffee and sunset tipples alike.

Meanwhile, there's underfloor heating and a crackling wood-burning stove for cooler evenings spent in the outrageously elegant lounge, plus a well-equipped kitchen that includes a cooker and hob (not forgetting those all-important holiday additions: a microwave and a dishwasher). The glazed dining area will make you feel as though you're eating al fresco, even if it happens to be raining outside!

You'll have two large, beautiful bedrooms to choose from; one kingsize, and one with zip-and-link beds that can form a superking or a twin. Both bedrooms feature its own en-suite bathroom, complete with a piping hot shower and flushing loo. The spherical master bedroom is also home to a gleaming copper bath - all ready and waiting to be filled with luxurious bubbles.

After a hearty home-cooked breakfast on the terrace, it's time to decide what you'd like to do with the day ahead.

You could start by simply wandering through the site's 13 acres of enchanting woodland grounds, which are filled with tempting hiking trails and cycling routes, set alongside trickling streams, majestic lakes, and arched garden bridges. Take in all those amazing sights and sounds of nature, from joyous birdsong, to the occasional hedgehog scuttling through the undergrowth.

There's an on-site tennis court for working up more of a sweat - just bring your rackets! And just in case you do fancy travelling further afield, the South Downs National Park is only 12 miles away.

There are plenty of other interesting things to see and do in the local area, including the National Trust-run Bateman's House, with its walled gardens and amazing tea room, and plenty of chocolate-box country pubs to stop in.

The coast is a mere 36 miles away, if you're hankering after a day at the beach, with the Channel Tunnel accessed in under two hours if you're really in the mood to explore!

However, with so much beauty to feast your senses upon at The Buzzardry, we've got a sneaking feeling you may prefer to stay put, open up a bottle of wine, and just relax.
