Full description
A laid-back, dog-friendly North Wales retreat that's right on the promenade of Pwllheli's mesmerising South Beach, surrounded by epic sea-and-mountain views.

Beautifully set on the promenade of the award-winning South Beach in Pwllheli (pronounced ‘puh-theh-lee' for non-Welsh speakers!), The Beach House couldn't be more aptly named.

The south-facing retreat showcases magnificent views of shimmering Cardigan Bay waters, with Snowdonia's dramatic peaks in the distance, and the shingle-and-sand beach itself right on the doorstep.

Who could ask for anything more?

Well, inside the house itself awaits a thoughtful upside-down layout - to make the most of those views - with cosy furnishings, sleek facilities, and quirky maritime accessories that reflect these unique surroundings to perfection.

Unwind over a welcome glass of wine in the open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area on the first floor, where you'll find a comfy L-shaped sofa positioned by enormous French windows. Wander through these, and you'll be out on the cosily furnished, impossibly scenic balcony. Just the place for sundowners later on!

(Don't worry... when the sun has finally melted into the horizon, there's a Smart TV to keep everybody entertained, along with Wi-Fi, and an Amazon Echo Dot with Alexa).

Sleeping up to six guests and one well-behaved dog, you'll have three bedrooms to choose from. There's an elegant ground-floor double, a second-floor twin, and a master kingsize room with soothing sea views, also on the second floor.

There's a choice of freshening-up spots, too, with an electric shower for quick washes, and an indulgent bathroom, complete with a raised clawfoot tub, for longer, bubble-fuelled soaks.

Early risers can wander out to the balcony to take in the sunrise over morning coffee, listening to the gentle sound of the waves.  Why not make use of the telescope, too, and see if you can spot St. Tudwal's Islands and Harlech Castle beyond? (St. Tudwal's Island West is owned by one Bear Grylls, so perhaps if you train that telescope sharply enough...)

If you're feeling brave, you could wander down to the beach and start the day with an energising swim, before walking along the stunning coastal path to nearby Llanbedrog, and its famous Tin Man sculpture at the top of the headland.

Prefer shopping and café stops? Pwllheli is a bustling market town with something for everyone, or hop in the car and take the 15-minute drive to Abersoch, a thriving coastal village on the Llyn Peninsula.

Meanwhile, adrenaline junkies can get their fix at Zip World, a thrilling playground of adventure that includes the world's fastest zip line, just an hour away.

With so much to see and do in every direction, and the cosiest of surroundings to return to by awe-inspiring sunset, we repeat: who could ask for anything more?

Things to note

One well-behaved dog is welcome to stay. Please keep dogs away from carpeted areas, bedrooms, and furniture.
