Full description

Savour the unrivalled beauty of the Quantock Hills from the cosy comfort of a luxury yurt, dome or safari lodge.

Somerset's Quantock Hills could have been custom-made for glamping breaks. England's very first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, they cover acres of ancient parkland, soothing oak woodland, and rich, rolling fields.

You'll find Somerset Yurts right here, beautifully nestled on a working dairy farm with plenty of wide open space, and truly magnificent views out to the Blackdown Hills.

Choose your accommodation from a selection of individually named, styled and furnished yurts, each sleeping up to four people (plus the dog!) Moonslade is decked in calming sky-blue, while Furzeclose is golden-orange, the traditional colour for Mongolian yurts...and a perfect accompaniment to that sunrise.

Green-toned Gotton Down blends perfectly into the country landscape, while Cherrygrove is the most romantic yurt, enjoying a secluded position that's furthest away from the communal barn.  Finally, Meadow is the newest yurt addition, a locally-crafted haven packed with character.

Don't fancy a yurt? Then how about Elderflower, a futuristic geodesic dome with a huge stargazing window? Or for added luxury, the Safari Lodges come complete with two separate bedrooms, kitchen facilities, and a private bathroom with flushing loo. Each sleeping up to six people, the Lodges are the perfect choice if you're bringing the family along.

Whichever accommodation you decide on, you can expect thoughtful attention to detail throughout, plus proper beds and sumptuous furnishings. All those glamping practicalities are well-covered, from the all-important woodburner to lighting, electricity, and hot drink-making facilities!

And of course, you'll have your own outdoor space to enjoy, complete with a picnic bench and a barbecue (so that's suppertime sunset-watching covered).

Head for the communal Dutch Barn to catch up with new friends.  Here you'll find a fabulously equipped kitchen and indoor/outdoor dining areas, together with a bathroom featuring piping hot power showers - ideal after a long day exploring that amazing landscape! There's also a fun games corner (giant Jenga, anyone?) and plenty of maps and guides for you to plan the perfect country routes.

With the farm site stretching out across three fields, why not take a wander? The friendly owners will be happy to show you around the farm (perfect for children eager to meet the calves and learn more about farm life!) and there are many beautiful walks and mountain bike rides to be taken in the surrounding area.

Meanwhile, the nearest pubs and restaurants are within two miles - so you can indulge in a hearty lunch, then burn the calories away with an invigorating country walk afterwards! If you prefer a spot of shopping with leisurely coffee stops, just jump in the car - a ten minute drive will lead you to the historic county town of Taunton.

Wherever you end up, your cosy haven at Somerset Yurts will be calling you by evening, so make sure you return in time to enjoy all those magnificent sights and sounds of nature as the sun sinks over the hills. What could possibly be better?

Things to note

Up to two dogs per yurt may stay upon prior arrangement, smoking is in permitted areas only, children of all ages are welcome. Check in from 4pm, check out is 10am.
