Full description
A romantic chalet with a sauna, hot tub, and seasonal swimming pool, with access to a private beach in the Colne Estuary Nature Reserve.

If you can't decide between a seaside or a green escape, relax... Saint Osyth Beach Retreat combines the benefits of both.

Set within the Colne Estuary Nature Reserve, and boasting gardens that are teeming with wildlife, you'll also have access to a private beach in Saint Osyth, a tranquil Essex village that's just 20 minutes away from the historic city of Colchester.

The chalet itself is fresh, modern, and filled with natural light.  There are spacious decked areas, to sit outside and savour the sun rising and setting over the sea, and cosy spaces inside, to watch atmospheric skies and rolling waves with a steaming mug of hot chocolate.

Oh, and did we mention there's also a private sauna, a hot tub, and a seasonal swimming pool to enjoy?

You'll access the luxurious chalet-by-the-sea via its own mature terraced gardens, and through huge glass doors that lead from the ground-floor barbecue deck (what an entrance!)

Here you'll find the relaxed, open plan lounge, kitchen and sun-dappled breakfast area, with everything you need to rustle up seaside snacks... alongside a few thoughtful treats, including a welcome bottle in the fridge, and essentials including bread, butter, cereal and hot drinks.

Simply head up the winding staircase to the comfy bedroom, furnished with a sumptuous kingsize bed, underfloor heating, sea views... and a door that leads out to a beautiful sun deck... the perfect setting for morning coffee.

You'll also be able to access the hot tub on the upper terrace, for truly mesmerising views, while the seasonal pool and sauna can be found on the terraces below.

What about that private beach? All you have to do is head for the grassy beachland and make your way down... there's even a romantic jetty to gaze into each other's eyes from, and kayaks available for use in the summer months.

Since you're staying in a nature reserve, it probably goes without saying that the opportunities for wildlife watching are endless! You can also indulge in watersports at the local aqua park, and plenty of scenic walks. A twenty-minute estuary stroll will lead you into Saint Osyth village, which is peppered with independent shops and cafés.

Jump in the car to discover local activities, including horse riding, archery, and clay pigeon shooting... and if you feel like a change of sea-nery then Clacton, with its famous funfair pier, is under half an hour away.

(Wherever you go, don't forget to head back to your beach retreat in time to fire up the barbecue, pop open some bubbles, and greet that beautiful, blazing sunset.)
