Ravendere Retreats Treehouse
England / Ilfracombe, Devon
Full description
Seriously grown-up glamping, in a luxury treehouse set in a North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Remember the secret dream you nursed since childhood, that you would one day live in a treehouse? Well, now you're all grown up, you can! Better still, you'll find this particular treehouse has been given an exclusive upgrade.
Perfectly nestled in twelve acres of private ancient woodland, this adults-and-dogs-only retreat is surrounded by the exceptional beauty of nature...the perfect antidote to a stressful everyday life. With the breathtaking North Devon coast just a stone's throw away, scenic woodland walks and beaches are easy to discover and enjoy.
The treehouse itself is a bespoke-crafted haven, blissfully secluded amongst the leaves for a uniquely romantic escape. Every detail has been carefully considered here, and it shows.
Creative hexagonal decking showcases panoramic woodland views (if you're lucky, you may even spot the occasional deer!). Plenty of comfy seating, plus a cast-iron pizza oven and a barbecue, mean al fresco dining is a sumptuous pleasure.
The exceptional style and attention to detail continue inside. A crackling woodburning stove is the ideal complement to evening TV and movie dates, with a selection of DVDs and games to enjoy. Kitchen essentials are provided, along with a Nespresso coffee machine to ease you gently into the mornings.
The bathroom houses an opulent walk-in waterfall shower, complete with luxury toiletries, fluffy towels and bathrobes. When it's time to turn in after a hard day exploring the area, the cosy cotton-dressed king-sized bed is the ideal resting place.
(Oh, and if you were thinking that wasn't quite enough luxury, the bedroom also features a roll-top, freestanding bath with magnificent valley views!)
Switch off completely if you prefer, though if you need to stay in touch with the outside world during your stay, superfast WiFi means you can.
With your accommodation so beautifully covered, it's time to get out and immerse yourselves in everything this spectacular part of the world has to offer. Pit stops and evening meals alike are well catered for at the local pub, a mere ten-minute stroll away and offering a seasonal, locally-sourced menu.
Meanwhile, a fifteen-minute walk will take you to Lee Bay beach, which is dog-friendly and surrounded by rolling countryside. Slightly further afield are Ilfracombe and Woolacombe, both accessible in a short car journey.
Woolacombe has been consistently recognised as one of the best beaches in Europe, and is an essential ‘must-visit' if you're a keen surfer. Ilfracombe is packed with independent shops to stroll through, and boasts a picturesque harbour that's home to Michelin-starred restaurants and artisan produce.
Alternatively, you could try indulging in a spot of activity! From clay pigeon shooting and golf, to quad biking and deep sea fishing, the possibilities are numerous.
However you like to spend your time, the delights of North Devon are best experienced from the comfort of the trees, so why not turn that childhood dream into a luxuriously grown-up reality at Ravendere Retreats?
Things to note
A maximum of 2 dogs are permitted to stay upon prior agreement. No smoking permitted. No candles or camp fires.
