Full description
A bespoke-designed, lovingly handcrafted family treehouse, packed with luxuries and remotely secluded on a family farm in the heart of rural Wales.

As grand in name as in nature, you'll find the large and luxurious Prince Llewelyn Treehouse at Squirrel's Nest, a collection of bespoke-designed treehouses secluded on a 130-acre family farm.

If you're looking for somewhere you can truly switch off with your loved ones, surrounded by all the beauty of nature, you're in serious luck. Surrounded by a vast, 900-acre hill (known as Maelinaidd), the sheep-dotted farm is blissfully remote... though you'll be able to use your phone here and there, friendly owners John and Laura recommend you switch it off altogether!

A carpenter by trade, John built Prince Llewelyn himself, to a bespoke, creative design and using a beautiful combination of locally sourced oak, larch, and western red cedar.

Spanning almost 56 square metres inside, the insulated space has been cosily decorated in collaboration with the renowned soft furnishings company Dunelm, to sleep 5-7 guests (the extra two will be sleeping in comfy sleeping bags in the ‘only the brave' hammock, dramatically suspended above the downstairs area!)

Meanwhile, all the luxuries you might expect from a holiday apartment have been gainfully provided, including a 43-inch Freesat TV, a well-equipped kitchen stocked with complimentary goodies including muesli and Welsh tea, and for those who aren't sleeping in the hammock, downy beds with plenty of snuggly blankets.

Then there's the bathroom... a sanctuary of wonder equipped with a flushing loo, a large, luxurious copper shower, and a freestanding bath that lets you look out over the countryside as you sink into indulgent bubbles. And of course, there'll be a fluffy white towel to wrap yourself in, straight after that gorgeous soak.

Simply fire up the coffee machine to help charge your morning after a sound night's sleep, and decide what you're going to do with the day (if you're in the mood for an extra treat, how about pre-ordering a delicious breakfast hamper, too?)

There are plenty of magnificent spots for hiking... just pack a picnic, and that's the day nicely covered. The nearest shops and pubs are a few miles away, and if you're willing to jump in the car, you can visit local attractions including the sparkling Elan Valley Dams, and Rhayader's famed Red Kite Feeding Station.

Staying on site? Then you might want to schedule in a yoga class, or learn about bushcraft during your stay, with fascinating workshops that range from fire lighting to natural cordage making.

(But if all that sounds far too strenuous for a relaxing holiday, you could always arrange a soothing massage treatment, or relax in the private hot tub instead!)

All that's left to do is wander over to the green and light the Chimney, for a spot of marshmallow toasting by star-studded evening... what bliss.

Things to note

Check in from 4pm, check out by 10am. There is no Wi-Fi on site, but 4G can be picked up on the decking and within the farm grounds. Pets are regrettably not permitted, due to the site being a working farm. Please note that the treehouse is in a secluded location that takes around five minutes to walk to from the car park.
