Pennard Hill Tree Tent
England / Shepton Mallet, Somerset
Full description
A spherical haven for two, elevated amongst the trees on a family-run farm in Somerset, with outstanding views over the Mendip Hills.
A mere stone's throw from the iconic town of Glastonbury, Pennard Hill Farm is a friendly, family-run working farm in the heart of the rolling Mendip Hills.
But Pennard Hill is no ordinary farm! Not only can you expect vast expanses of soothing, unspoilt rural scenery, luxurious facilities include a heated indoor pool, and a relaxing selection of spa treatments.
What better way to take some time out from the exhausting demands of everyday life?
Peacefully suspended between two trees, the Tree Tent is a magical escape for a couple in need of fresh-air-filled downtime. And with no Wi-Fi or electricity anywhere in sight, you can reconnect with nature and each-other... without any distractions getting in the way.
You'll find that every last detail has been beautifully thought out, so you'll feel perfectly comfy and cossetted in your private retreat. The bedroom pod is furnished with a double bed, soft LED lighting, and a gorgeous wood-burning stove that will make cool evenings feel ridiculously cosy.
By day, simply fold the bed into a sofa, and get lost in conversation, or disappear between the pages of a good book.
In such a beautiful setting, you may prefer to relax al fresco. To do that, all you've got to do is wander across the rope bridge to the spacious decked seating area, beautifully nestled amongst the trees.
You'll also discover a fully equipped kitchen, complete with a gas hob that's perfect for whipping up a hearty breakfast, a refreshing hot shower, and a private loo.
Meanwhile, the crackling firepit makes an ideal setting for when the twinkling stars make their appearance in the night sky... a perfect excuse for laughter-fuelled storytelling over toasted marshmallows.
After a sound night's sleep, why not head for the heated pool and take an energising dip? Housed in an elegant, temperature-controlled Victorian red brick barn, the Gothic arched window showcases happily grazing sheep and ponies, as you complete your laps.
Prefer something a little further afield? There's a wealth of activities to enjoy in the surrounding area, from balloon rides to clay pigeon shooting. If you prefer not to cook while you're on holiday, there are plenty of pubs and restaurants to cosy up in, while Longleat Safari Park is a mere half-hour drive away.
Otherwise, why not explore the famous mysteries and legends of Glastonbury, or pay a visit to Wells, England's smallest city, before heading back to your tree tent for another blissful evening under the stars?
Things to note
Minimum 2-night stay.
