Full description
Two luxurious, hot tub-equipped rural cabins, nestled high in the green Welsh hills on a friendly sheep-dotted organic farm.

Whichever of the two cosy lodges you choose, you're guaranteed a warm Welsh welcome to Penlan Farm, run by owners Anita and Glyn.

With both lodges (named Shepherd's Hill and Ewe's View) nestled 1000ft high in the farm's rolling hills, exceptional views are guaranteed. You'll find that everything inside has been perfectly positioned to capture the stunning views, with plenty of added creature comforts that promise to cocoon you in natural luxury.

Decorated in relaxed, muted tones, Shepherd's Hill is perfect for a romantic couple, with its squishy love seat, freestanding copper bathtub, and downy kingsize bed. The en-suite double shower room is gloriously opulent, while the induction hob will help you whip up many a romantic country feast.

A slightly larger retreat, Ewe View is ideal for family getaways, with its two kingsize beds (one can be split into two singles if needed) with en-suite facilities, and a den close by that adventurous kids will find impossible to resist! Complete with a rope swing, mini climbing wall, and a slide descent, it'll feel like you're launching yourself straight into the beautiful valley below.

Simply fire up the wood-burning stove after a hard day of outdoor escapades, and sink into the plush velvet corner sofa for an indulgent evening treat. Facilities include a fully equipped kitchen, and that all-important flushing loo.

You're likely to spend lots of holiday time out on the terrace, or huddled around the fire bowl... well, it'd be rude to ignore those blazing sunsets and twinkling stars, when they put on such amazing nightly shows!

(For an extra shot of luxury, you could always relax in the bubbling hot tub with a glass of something lovely).

What to do by day? You could do worse than consulting your knowledgeable hosts. Glyn has lived on Penlan Farm all his life, and Anita for over a decade... which means what they don't know about the local area isn't worth knowing! If you're lucky, they might even invite you to help feed their new little arrivals during lambing season.

Meanwhile, invigorating hill-walking is a given, of course, with the Elan Valley offering walks for all abilities, or bike rides straight from your cabin.

Pay a visit to the medieval town of Ludlow, or explore the many book shops of Hay-on-Wye. Aberystwyth is an hour away, or how about a short pootle along to the local farm shops to stock up on holiday treats? On the way back, you could arrange a welcome stop off at the 16th century Fforest Inn, one of Wales' oldest pubs.

(Just make sure you're back in time to catch that sunset!)

Things to note

Check in at 4pm, check out by 11am. Travel cots and highchairs are provided on request. Please note that the farmyard is not available to explore, except at certain pre-agreed times (such as during lambing season).
