Nene Valley Boats
Wouldn't it be lovely to swap the hustle and bustle of everyday life for a gentle cruise along the sparkling River Nene, enjoying stunning countryside views along your way?
Sammy is an irresistibly cosy and fully furnished narrowboat that's ideal for you and three of your favourite people (plus one well-behaved dog) to do just that!
You'll find Sammy peacefully moored at Oundle, in the heart of the historic Nene Valley. The perfect base for exploring Northampton and Peterborough, there's also plenty of rare water wildlife to discover, and a wealth of charming villages to visit - not to mention the occasional pub.
Sammy's friendly owners are experienced boaters, and they have created a selection of suggested routes with overnight stopping points, so you won't have to worry about taking your chances along the 100-mile river.
Whichever route you decide to take, you'll be in for a treat. Head downstream towards Peterborough and the fens and rivers beyond if you're looking for a calmer break, or head towards Northampton and the bustling canal network for something a little more lively.
Your journey planned and mapped, it's time to settle in for a memorable journey aboard a memorable boat!
Accredited by Visit England, Sammy provides sumptuous four-star accommodation with everything you could possibly want included.
For starters, there's a well-equipped galley kitchen that features a gas hob, oven, grill - and even a microwave. With pans, crockery and cutlery all provided, you can pack wonderfully light.
The shower room is home to a sink and that all-important flushing loo, while you'll find the beds (one double and two bunks) dressed in fresh linen, plump pillows and downy duvets.
As if that wasn't enough, double glazing and central heating will keep everybody toasty throughout your stay, and you'll find lots of space to catch up and relax. Reconnect over a hearty meal at the dining table, then settle in for the evening with a movie, some mood-music, or a good book.
After a sound night's sleep, awake to the soothing sounds of nature, before wandering out on deck with your morning coffee (you may even be able to feed the ducks from your window!)
With Sammy at your side, messing about on the river has never felt so free and easy...and once you've given it a try, you're sure to have discovered a brand-new holiday addiction.
Things to note
