Mid Auchengowan Glamping Dome

A luxurious family-run farm retreat with a wood-burning stove and incredible views of peaceful Scottish countryside, with bustling Glasgow a mere stone's throw away.
  • Sleeps: 4
  • Bedrooms: 2
  • Bathroom: 1
  • Minimum stay: 2 nights

Boasting soothing scenery that takes in a shimmering loch and lush, wildlife-steeped Scottish countryside, it’s hard to believe that Mid Auchengowan is so conveniently close to Glasgow Airport.

Taking ownership of their picture-perfect family farm in 2019, hosts Chris and Sara have worked hard to ensure that their guests experience plenty of comfort… the blissful effect being that you’ll feel far away from your stresses and cares back home!

Their latest addition, the Glamping Dome, is ideal for a small family or group of friends, sleeping up to four guests in two snuggly kingsize beds.

Gently elevated on a private platform, those fresh countryside views seem to stretch out for all eternity – try looking out for the majestic Castle Semple in the distance. Better still, you can enjoy the scenery even if it’s raining, with an enormous window that’s ideal for watching the ever-changing sky over a steaming mug of Nespresso coffee.

When the sun is shining, there’s a gorgeous garden to help you while away those lazy holiday hours, along with a barbecue area that’s a perfect accompaniment to the blazing sunset.

(In fact, why not treat yourselves even more, with a locally-sourced barbecue pack, a sumptuous breakfast for your first morning, or even a bespoke celebration hamper?)

Create irresistibly cosy evenings in with help from the dome’s soft-glowing wood-burner and Smart TV – yes, a Smart TV: this is glamping, not camping! – along with a thoughtful selection of books and games.

What the guests of Mid Auchengowan Glamping Dome say

“Just returned from a two-night stay at The Dome and it was fantastic! Sara and Chris have thought of everything, had all your essentials and it was spotlessly clean. We had great weather for it too  and enjoyed our BBQ and fire pit into the evening.”

“My partner and our 2 kids stayed at the Dome and had such a fantastic time. My daughter hasn’t stopped going on about it and keeps asking if we can go back, which we definitely will. You’re 25 minutes drive away from Glasgow yet you feel like you’re right in the middle of nowhere with the stunning views. The Dome has everything you could need. We were there with our 3 year old daughter and 8 month old son… my daughter loved all the games and books, and there was a travel cot and high chair there which was of great help for us for our son. The beds were really comfortable and everything was really clean and tidy. Sara was there if we needed her for anything which was also fantastic. I honestly couldn’t fault anything with our stay at the Dome. We have been telling everyone about it and can’t wait to stay again in the future.”

“Me and my husband stayed in the dome for 2 nights – it’s amazing, the pictures dont do it justice, from when we arrived till we left Sara was so helpful and chris. Amazing weekend we had and we will definitely be back in the future. It has everything you need and a lot of little personal touches. We also did the 5 mile walk which was recommended and the sun was shining – such beautiful place, would definitely recommend it to our friends and family. Can’t wait to rebook and take my daughter this time.”
