Merseyside Luxury Barge
England / Liverpool
Full description
A historic grain barge, lovingly restored for large group accommodation within walking distance of Liverpool's iconic city centre.
Boasting five spacious en-suite bedrooms, Merseyside Luxury Barge is no ordinary houseboat!
Moored in the friendly, family-run Liverpool Marina, the former grain barge is a unique and comfortable setting for up to ten guests to explore the former European Capital of Culture, with Liverpool's iconic city centre just a short walk away.
But you'll have to disembark first.
And that could be difficult, since there's a huge, sumptuously furnished living space to stretch out in, complete with squishy beanbag chairs, and quirky accessories that include porthole mirrors, a ‘pop art' coffee table, and The Beatles' song sheets lining the wall.
There's also a gorgeous outdoor sun terrace to enjoy a glass of bubbles from, as you watch boats bobbing in the sparkling marina. You can also sit back and enjoy spectacular views of the cathedral and docks.
The large, fully equipped kitchen will help you whip up maritime feasts that are fit for the Admiral, and you'll find it stocked with plenty of tea, coffee and milk to get you started (well, who doesn't feel like brewing a refreshing cuppa when they arrive on holiday?) Meanwhile, the sociable breakfast table is the ideal spot for morning coffee and conversation, as you plan the day ahead.
Four of the en-suite bedrooms are located downstairs, each one equipped with a downy kingsize bed (though if you'd prefer two singles, just ask). The remaining kingsize room is upstairs.
After a sound night's sleep on the waves, freshen up in your en-suite shower, then get ready for a day of exploring!
If you don't feel like cooking, you could start by wandering along to the marina's yacht club for a slap-up breakfast, before taking the scenic, less than half-mile stroll to the lively city centre.
There, you can shop ‘til you drop, sample the delights of the wide array of bars and restaurants, or travel slightly further along to discover even more Liverpool attractions, including Anfield Stadium, the Museum of Liverpool, and the Cavern Club - a must for music and history lovers alike!
Indulge as much as you want, safe in the knowledge that the friendly atmosphere and tranquil surroundings of the marina - not to mention your home-from-home houseboat - will be waiting for you to return at the end of another exhilarating day.
Things to note
Check in after 3pm, check out by 10am. Regrettably, pets are not permitted.
