Full description
Moroccan-inspired, family-sized yurts with Scandinavian wood-fired hot tubs, nestlgamed on a charming farm site just a pebble skim away from England's largest and most spectacular natural lake.

Showcasing the Lake District at its most enchanting, you'll discover Long Valley Yurts' Windermere location just a short distance from the vast natural lake itself, on a friendly farm site at the foot of the soothing Winster Valley.

You'll feel at least half a world away from all your cares back home as you immerse yourselves in those magnificent natural views, and with an on-site farm shop and a charming pub in walking distance, the scene is set for a truly memorable break.

Better still, you get to relax and unwind in one of four beautifully furnished 18ft yurts, each sleeping up to six guests.

Ideal for families, two of the yurts are also dog-friendly, and for an extra treat, all come complete with their very own Scandinavian wood-fired hot tub, which you can book for a private soaking session under the stars.

Modelled on the ornate, traditional Turkmen style, and set on a raised wooden platform, each yurt has been expertly crafted from sustainable ash, and is covered with a thick, weather-proof poly cotton canvas that will make you feel unbelievably snug.

Inside, there's an ultra-stylish and sumptuously welcoming Moroccan feel, with plenty of soft blankets, cosy cushions, and woollen rugs in vibrant colours.

A glowing wood-burning stove will keep everyone warm on cool evenings, while a small gas hob and every utensil you could wish for means you can keep the holiday packing nice and light!

While the evening away chatting and laughing under the gentle fairy lights, and when it's finally slumber-time, just unfold the futon-style beds (a mixture of doubles and singles), and curl up under freshly laundered feather duvets - no sleeping bags required!

The central skylight is perfect for viewing the blanket of stars above, helping you drift off to a sound night's sleep.

Wake up to a steaming mug of fresh coffee, before heading off to explore Ambleside, Grasmere or Coniston, all just a short drive away. If you prefer something less touristy, there are plenty of hidden spots in the area surrounding the campsite, ideal for wild swimming, or simply enjoying a delicious picnic!

If you're in an adventurous mood, you could also try your hand at a range of outdoor activities including bushcraft, rock climbing, and canoeing... an amazing way to mark what's sure to be one of the best breaks you'll take.

Things to note

The yurts are available to book from March to November.
