Simple, grown-ups-only luxury in a naturally beautiful setting, surrounded by the rippling lakes of rural Cheshire.
  • Sleeps: 2 per tent
  • Bedroom: Open plan
  • Bathroom: External shared
  • Minimum stay: 2 nights

Exclusively for adults, a stay at Lloyds Meadow Glamping represents nature at its most peacefully beautiful.

Each traditional, five-metre bell tent-for-two is set within its own private area of the ten-acre site, achingly close to one of its four shimmering fishing lakes. Near to both Delamere Forest and bustling Chester, there’s plenty to see and do while you’re here.

That is, if you can tear yourselves away from your off-grid haven.  Furnished with all the downy luxury you could wish for, each bell tent is carpeted with gorgeous Chindi rugs, created from recycled cotton and ethically sourced from India.

You can also expect an award-winning mattress, irresistibly topped with a snuggly, 12-tog feather-and-down duvet (who said staying in a tent had to equal roughing it in the Great Outdoors?)

As if that wasn’t enough, you’ll have plenty of twinkling, eco-friendly fairy lights and solar lamps to give your star-studded evenings a cosy glow. Not that you may need them…as this is a low light pollution area, the stars are sure to sparkle more brightly than you’ve ever seen them before.

You’ll find brand-new toilets and piping hot showers located just a short walk away from your tent, with additional loos positioned by the lake. Don’t forget to bring your torch!

Don’t forget to use the binoculars thoughtfully supplied in your tent, too, because this really is a prime spot for wildlife-watching.  The lakes welcome feathered visitors galore, including swallows, herons, and kingfishers.

More information

Everything has been thought about here, with handy cooking packs to hire, just in case you don’t want to lug your own equipment along. You could also treat yourselves to a locally-sourced breakfast or barbecue pack – ideal if you’re not up for doing the shopping while you’re away!

Rather spend some social time in the pub? No problem. The nearest local – a welcoming former 19th-century coaching inn – is a five-minute wander away.

But if you’re looking for more to do, getting on your bike could be a great start! The 176-mile Cheshire Cycleway is sprinkled with varied terrains (though you could always hire an electric bike if you’d prefer to take it easy). Meanwhile, nearby Delamere Forest is home to a Go Ape! high ropes course and a charming café.

Indulge in a wide variety of watersports at Manley Mere, just two-and-a-half miles away, or visit the historic Chester Town Hall for an architectural treat.

However, if all that sounds like a little too much activity for your liking, you’re allowed to simply grab your fishing rod (or a good book), and hang out at the Lloyds Meadow lake for a while, simply revelling in nature at its finest.
