  • Minimum stay: 4 nights

There’s something special about the Lewis Longhouse, and it promises to soothe your weary souls just as soon as you arrive on this other-worldly, breathtakingly beautiful Hebridean island.

Ideally positioned low on a hillside, just above a sandy beach, the views across the dramatic island landscape are outstanding.  When viewed in all weathers, from floor-to-ceiling windows, they become even more astounding.

A calming, modern take on a traditional island house, the Lewis Longhouse is deliberately low-impact, using energy-conscious technology that made it the first Western Isles home to achieve an EPC rating of AA. But, you’ll find that what it offers in eco-friendliness, it more than matches in luxury, style and comfort.

There are two large and lovely south-facing bedrooms to choose from; that is, when you’re not relaxing in the gorgeous double-height living area, with toasty underfloor heating and relaxed seating with décor that blends with the outdoors, all surrounded by views of that amazing, ever-changing sky.

The kitchen and dining area features an island unit with a lovingly hand crafted worktop cut from beech trees rescued from the grounds of Lews Castle, and you’ll find the kitchen itself impressively well-equipped. Yet if you’re in the mood for al fresco dining, a gas barbecue on the dedicated dining deck is just what you need.

Upstairs, you’ll discover a blissful relaxation space with a ‘surprise’ balcony that’s ideal for curling up with a good book, with the energising sounds of nature and the sea in the background.  Meanwhile, you’ll find your Harris Tweed-furnished bedroom equipped with dressing gowns and irresistibly soft towels.

You’ll find that every last detail has been thought about here. Not only will you find a selection of local foodie treats to welcome you, there is also plenty on hand to inspire and entertain you.
