Iglu-Dorf, a unique igloo village found on seven of Europe's most iconic ski slopes, was uniquely created by keen snowboarder Adrian Günter, with the intention of being first on the mountain each morning to find plenty of fresh flurries to snowboard in.
Oozing with traditional Alpine charm, ski aficionados and those who simply love to snuggle in the snow will adore their time at Iglu-Dorf Engelberg, with igloos newly constructed every winter in a true labour of love, innovation and effort. Each igloo is beautifully decorated using a different artistic theme each year (Engelberg's theme for the season 2017/2018 is ‘Shaolin').
Discover Iglu-Dorf Engelberg at the sparkling Trübsee Lake, a hikers' paradise found in the energising heart of the Swiss Alps, offering a magical array of slopes from majestic Titlis down to the valleys below. Set at an altitude of 1,800 metres, the views from this unique village are guaranteed to be exceptional.
Once you arrive, you'll find that each igloo is a testament to cosy creativity amongst the twinkling snow. Featuring a dazzling array of mythological ice sculptures hand-created by artists, you'll feel as though you've just stepped into a fantasy world.
A series of corridors connect the igloos, which are privately secluded and available in an array of accommodation options. The corridors, igloos and public areas all feature low LED lighting, for a romantic glow by evening.
Along with a mountain restaurant and bar that's perfect for enjoying the views with a mulled wine or fondue feast!
All that's left to do now is to choose your ideal igloo accommodation! The Standard Igloo is ideal for families or groups of up to six people, complete with high-quality expedition sleeping bags to keep everybody cosy. You'll find communal toilets at the centre of the igloo village.
Looking for a romantic hideaway? Then the Romantic Igloo, complete with snow art and luxurious lambskin-covered beds, is perfect for you and your loved one. For additional luxury, the Romantic Igloo Plus and Family Plus come equipped with their own private WC.
If you're feeling inspired, why not create a unique Love Nest? Aided by an igloo expert, you can build your very own holiday haven in the snow.
Oh, and if you're worrying about spending your holiday time in a freezing climate, why not treat yourselves to a stay in a furnished Hot Igloo, complete with toasty heating and a cosy double bed.
Hot tea is served each morning, direct to your sleeping bag - can you imagine a more invigorating way to wake up? And of course, your holiday wouldn't be complete without a snowshoe walk and a session in the bubbling on-site Jacuzzi. Or for something a little different, why not spend some time at the rope park - or try a paragliding session through the mountains!
Follow up all that exertion with a gorgeously gooey cheese fondue in the Igloo Bar, before relaxing in a deck chair with a well-deserved drink to accompany that glistening panorama. With all that fresh, fluffy white snow on display, you may well come to believe that heaven truly exists in the Alps!
