Soothingly nestled right on the water’s edge in the harbourside village of Gardenstown, near Banff in Aberdeenshire, Fisherman’s Cottage boasts charming coastal scenery in (buckets and) spades.

At high tide, the sea laps the harbour wall… which is just five yards from the lounge. And even if the weather stops you from exploring the rocky beach below, the cottage’s enormous, utterly mesmerising picture window means your holiday entertainment is well and truly covered.

Gaze out over Gamrie Bay to More Head, all the way out to the Moray Firth – don’t forget to watch out for seals and dolphins – or relax in the dining room with a welcome glass of wine, lost in conversation with your loved ones.

Sleeping up to seven guests and their two well-behaved dogs, you’ll find a kingsize bedroom on the ground floor, complete with its own en-suite shower room. Upstairs await a double room, together with a family room with a double and a single bed.

Once you’re settled in, you can take a stroll into Gardenstown, take the dogs out on the atmospheric coastal path to Crovie, indulge in a local distillery tour, or simply jump in the car to wind your way through this picture-perfect part of the world.
