Nestled at the end of a private track on the edge of shimmering Ullswater (the second largest lake in the Lake District) Far Boathouse is so beautifully secluded, that you won’t even see it until you’ve made your joyful descent to the lake.

Once you arrive, there’ll be wine and chocolates waiting to help start your sublimely romantic boathouse break, along with plenty of luxurious comfort.

Everything you’ll need is gainfully provided, including a well-equipped kitchen with fresh coffee maker, a gorgeous marble dining table for sumptuous suppers, and an indulgent, driftwood-style bathroom with toiletries and fluffy robes.

Meanwhile, the huge, squishy sofa is perfectly positioned by bi-fold glass doors that showcase that magnificent lake and the surrounding hills to fairytale perfection.

(If you’re lucky, you may be visited by a friendly otter, along with the usual ducks and swans!)

As if all that wasn’t quite enough, you’ll find the downy kingsize bed sprinkled with rose petals, for an extra touch of romance after an unforgettable evening gazing at the sunset and stars.
