Just two hours away from central London, a trip to Dreamfields Glamping will feel as though you've uncovered a deliciously well-kept secret.
Perfectly positioned in a fifteen-acre field, just outside the medieval Somerset town of Bruton, await a pop-up procession of privately spaced bell tents... along with fun and luxurious facilities that anticipate just about every holiday need.
(Think fresh barista-style coffee and tasty breakfasts, a cosy bar, an outdoor cinema, children's games, and much, much more besides!)
Your spacious, five-metre bell tent comes equipped with a comfy double bed, and comfy air beds for any additional guests. Boasting beauty as well as comfort, you can also expect to find elegant vintage crockery and handmade bunting, as well as fresh flowers, and soft-glowing lanterns to light your evenings.
Meanwhile, just outside is your very own picnic table and barbecue... because Somerset sunsets have to be welcomed with sizzling suppers! And when the stars begin to emerge in that vast night sky, the magnificent firepit is the perfect place for storytelling and (complimentary) marshmallow-toasting.
After a sound night's sleep under those twinkling stars, there's no better way to start the day than with steaming coffee or Teapigs tea delivered right to your tent... along with a tempting selection of fresh fruit, flaky pastries, and bacon panini for the kids.
Generous facilities come in the form of sparkling clean toilets, piping hot showers, and a dedicated washing-up area, all just a short stroll away from your tent.
Then... why not simply hang out in the field? There's plenty of comfy haybale seating; ideal for getting lost in between the pages of a good book, or simply watching the world go by against a soundtrack of joyous birdsong.
You could choose to sink a long drink at the bar instead, or unwind over your favourite films on the outdoor cinema screen. If you're in the mood to exert some energy, there are games of every description - including giant Jenga, football, and table tennis - to suit big and little kids alike.
There's also a selection of local maps on hand, and a team of friendly staff who are brimming with local suggestions, should you feel like exploring further afield... quite literally!
Why not begin with an invigorating countryside stroll, before whiling away some time in a traditional country pub? You could also head into historic Bruton, one of the smallest towns in England, to soak up its rich heritage and arts culture.
However you choose to spend your day, that crackling firepit will be calling you by evening, as you settle in for yet another soothing night spent under the stars.
