A stylish and stunning Cotswolds conversion that's ideal for families in search of a picturesque rural retreat (you can bring the dogs, too!).

Proclaimed "the most beautiful village in England" by none other than William Morris, Bibury looks as though it's been plucked fresh from the easel of a master painter.

The tranquil River Coln flows through the village, with the cottages of Arlington Row often referred to as the most beautiful in the country (hint: you'll probably want to make sure you've got a camera handy!)

Cart Shed makes the ideal setting to enjoy this wondrous rural landscape, a thoughtfully restored farm building that boasts a wealth of home-from-home comforts. Dog-friendly, and sleeping up to six guests, the scene is perfectly set for a soul-soothing family holiday.

Certainly, you'll find ways to entertain yourselves whatever the weather, with the large, sun trap garden ideal for lazy summer afternoons (not to mention letting the kids and dogs run wild and free!), and a crackling wood-burner in the lounge, for family storytelling sessions as you warm your toes together.

You'll find it impossibly easy to relax too, surrounded by the building's original beamed ceilings, high-end accessories, and simple, soft-toned décor.

The white-tiled kitchen is a pleasure to cook in, while the breakfast bar is perfect for chatting over morning coffee. Enjoy heartier meals in the open-plan dining area and lounge, flooded with light from huge windows that also showcase those views to perfection.

You'll find the master bedroom downstairs, too, with its grand en-suite wet room and an elegant dressing room (this could be the one to claim for yourself!) Upstairs await two more bedrooms, both of them superkings with windows that overlook that beautiful garden.

In fact, why not head out there with your first coffee of the day, and breathe in all that pure, fresh air? Just the thing to set you up for an exhausting day of exploring the local area.

Bibury is a thriving village that's sure to claim your hearts, and there are plenty of friendly pubs to stop in if you're taking a leisurely stroll - most of which serve fresh, locally-sourced food.  But if you prefer heading away from the beaten track, simply use the concierge service available to make your reservations, and enjoy independent local recommendations.

There's plenty more to see and do, from a trip to the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds', otherwise known as Bourton-on-the-Water, to a fresh-produce shopping expedition to Daylesford Organic Farm.  Or for those in need of a little extra pampering, how about a treatment or two at the Haybarn Spa?

Head back to Cart Shed just in time for a sizzling barbecue supper, relaxing with a well-deserved tipple just as the stars make their appearance in that vast night sky.
