Calshot Luxury Beach Huts
Affectionately named ‘Gullwing' and ‘Little Tern', we can guarantee you'll fall head over heels in love with these two beautiful beach huts, exquisitely set right on the beach at Calshot, Hampshire.
Stretching out for a mile and home to a thriving watersports centre, Calshot beach is the perfect place to watch ships glide in and out of the port of Southampton, as you listen to the sound of rushing waves and the seagulls cawing overhead.
The two chic huts, positioned side by side on the beach, each measure a roomy 7m x 3m, and are hand built from insulated panels that cleverly keep you cool in summer, and toasty in winter (along with the warming wood burner, that is!)
Inside, discover plenty of light, nautical-inspired décor to inspire a feeling of freshness and relaxation by the sea. Bespoke furniture made from birch ply add plenty of warmth and comfort, while a shower room with hot water makes freshening up after a long day at the beach effortlessly enjoyable.
Whip up seaside feasts in the Shaker-style kitchen, complete with painted oak fascia, shiny stainless steel fittings and a gleaming concrete worktop that will make you feel like a celebrity chef! You'll even find a gas oven and hob, together with a solar-powered fridge-freezer (these are no ordinary beach huts).
Head up to the cosy mezzanine area, where you'll find plenty of sleeping space for families of up to five people. A freshly-dressed double bed looks straight over the sea...what a way to wake up!
Three single beds are positioned behind, with a baby gate to secure the stairs.
On sunny mornings, why not throw open the front bifold doors and welcome in all that glorious sunshine, enjoying bright sea views as you enjoy a steaming mug of fresh coffee and plan the day ahead?
Home to one of the largest outdoor and watersport centres, Calshot beach is the perfect spot for would-be adventurers. Enjoy plenty of windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, cycling and climbing here, with all equipment available to hire. You'll even find an indoor ski slope set within a historic hangar! Best to book your fun activities before you arrive as all are very popular.
Lovers of lazy romance are well catered-for here too, with panoramic views out to the Isle of Wight to enjoy as you stroll along the shoreline. History buffs will revel in a trip to 16th century Calshot Castle, while nature enthusiasts will adore exploring the nearby salt marsh, thriving with birds and wildlife.
So for an energising dose of Vitamin Sea - not to mention plenty of activity, rest and relaxation in equal measure - come and stay at Calshot Luxury Beach Huts, and never look back!
Things to note
No fires are permitted on the beach. No smoking inside accommodation. Minimum stay requirements - four nights midweek or three nights weekends, changeover is Monday or Friday only.
Tried and tested
"Where do we begin? First of all the beach huts look truly incredible. Waking up every morning to the sound of the sea and with the sun pouring through the top window ... What more could we have wished for. We came here to escape from our manic lives in Oxford, and now on the last day of our long weekend, feel refreshed and relaxed. We certainly look forward to returning next year, possibly with a few friends to share the experience with too."
"We're so sad to leave. We've spent a wonderfully relaxing weekend here. We will never forget the view through the window on waking of the sun on the water and the sound of the crashing waves. Our two young boys had a magical time climbing the ‘mountain' and sliding down on their bottoms, throwing stones in the sea, swimming and having adventures. We hope to come back very soon."
"What an incredible beach hut design - with outstanding views. We were lucky to have a scorching weekend with many evenings wining and dining on the deck and morning breakfast. Ample hot water, well equipped, comfortable beds and pillows with nice cotton linen. What more to say!!
We recommend the Mayflower at Lymington for excellent food and drinks. Holbury fish and chips on the beach good too! We even went in the sea - unknown to us in the UK!"
