Dating back to 1581, this grand fortified tower once protected the resident family from the Border reivers, and you’ll find plenty of authentic features throughout (including the most magnificent views over the Braidwood Burn and the 1½-acre woodland-and-orchard grounds).
Steep stone stairs take you from floor to floor, starting with the ground-floor kitchen and dining room with its authentic stone floor and barrel-vaulted ceiling. The spectacular Great Hall features a crackling woodburner and oak furniture…plus a fascinating, intricately-painted ceiling.
The next three floors are home to the bedrooms, where you’ll find a charming single, a spacious twin, and the en-suite master double right at the top (this is the one you’ll want to claim!)
