Bowland Retreat Lodges
England / Clitheroe, Lancashire
Full description
A sumptuous collection of self-catering lodges with Jacuzzi hot tubs and scenic decking, beautifully positioned in the heart of the Ribble Valley.
Uniquely mesmerising, Lancashire's Ribble Valley is steeped in heritage, magnificent scenery, and gastronomic delight.
Not only did the renowned author JRR Tolkien discover a wealth of creative inspiration in Ribble Valley, but the Queen herself once described a yearning to retire there one day.
Bowland Retreat Lodges is perfectly positioned in this magnificent part of the world, between the historic market town of Clitheroe, and the chocolate box village of Whalley, with the Forest of Bowland AONB right on its doorstep. Here you'll find a sumptuous collection of retreats, for holidays that demand an extra helping of luxury.
A dedicated, family-run site, the friendly owners have seen to it that each individually styled lodge is equipped with everything you'll need for a relaxing break, and much more besides.
Not only will you be greeted with gleaming, high-end kitchen and bathroom facilities, but you can look forward to soaking in your Jacuzzi hot tub by sunset, bubbles in hand, after a long day of exploring (or doing absolutely nothing... you decide!)
Perry, Marlow, and Kiri each sleep 2 guests, making them perfect for that romantic getaway you've been promising yourselves. Featuring an indulgent freestanding bathtub, a huge walk-in shower, and impossibly scenic al fresco decking, you'll never want to leave.
Ideal for up to 4 guests, Rue, Oakley, Orchid and Nash each feature two plush superking beds with elegant ensuite facilities (book Oakley if you'd like to make one of the rooms into a twin, instead.) Enjoy morning coffee out on the decking, before an evening soak in that bubbling hot tub... what bliss!
Last but by no means least, Elmore is ideal for larger groups of family or friends, sleeping up to 6 guests in three bedrooms: a superking ensuite, a kingsize room, and a cosy twin.
Whichever lodge you choose, you'll be able to treat yourselves to a range of holiday ‘extras' that range from fresh flowers, freshly-baked brownies, and afternoon teas, to romantic pop-up picnics with lanterns, flowers, and even a Bluetooth speaker provided!
If you prefer eating out, you couldn't have chosen a better location. Ribble Valley is well-known as the ‘food capital of the North', so you'll find the local area bursting with eateries of all descriptions.
There's plenty of unique activities to be discovered, too, from traversing the Tolkien trail, to visiting Clitheroe's medieval castle ruins - or indulging in an unmissable visit to one of the longest bars in Britain at Holmes Mill's Bowland Beer Hall, just a 10 minute drive away!
(In fact, there's so much to indulge your every sense, that we've got a feeling one visit to Bowland Retreat Lodges just won't be enough...)
Things to note
Check in on Monday (4 or 7-night stay) or Friday (3 or 7 night stay.) Check in from 4pm, check out by 10am. Pets are not permitted. Travel cots and highchairs can be provided on request.
