Full description
A soothing Scandinavian log cabin, nestled amongst birch woods and sweet-scented pines in a magical corner of the Scottish Highlands.

Perfectly positioned amongst some of the most incredible scenery the Highlands have to offer, the Black Isle (which just for the record is neither an island, nor black!) is characterised by dense, fairytale woodland.

It's amongst the wildlife-steeped birch wood and pine trees that you'll discover Black Isle Lodge, a beautiful Scandinavian log cabin imbued with a warm, home-from-home feel.

Sleeping up to five guests, plus an extra child in a cot, the Lodge is the ideal retreat for families or a group of firm friends looking to steal away from everyday the most scenic way possible.

Inside, you can expect plenty of homely creature comforts, from a crackling wood-burning stove in the comfy living area, to an extremely well-equipped kitchen that features those handy family time-savers: a microwave and a dishwasher!

You'll find the shower room and a cosy single bedroom on the ground floor, too, with plenty of room for the aforementioned cot.  Head upstairs for the kingsize master room, which comes complete with access to the balcony (perfect for enjoying morning coffee as you gaze dreamily out towards Munlochy Bay).

Just across the landing is the third bedroom, an elegant twin.  Meanwhile, the bathroom and second loo ensure there'll be no awkward morning queues.

Though you've got an amazing kitchen to cook in, you may decide you don't need it - after all, who wants to spend their holiday time slaving over the oven?

Friendly owners Jenny and Sebastian are keen cooks who love preparing delicious meals with the amazing local produce, so why not take advantage of their offer to whip you up a mouth-watering two or three-course dinner - either delivered directly to you, or served in their own dining room, just a short walk along the road?

Food taken care of, it's time for you to get under the skin of this amazing part of Scotland. The only question will be: where to begin?

Loch Ness - and its fabled monster - is a mere 30-minute drive away, along with the Cairngorm National Park. While you're in Inverness, it would be rude not to take advantage of the opportunity to browse the many specialist shops, or even the covered Victorian market...ideal if you've always fancied buying yourself a kilt!

Meanwhile, there are castles galore to feast your eyes upon, including the romantic Urquhart Castle ruins that overlook Loch Ness, and the great Dunrobin Castle, which dates all the way back to the 14th century.

You can even squeeze in a day trip to Orkney if you're in the mood. But if you're not, there's plenty of wildlife to spot right from the comfort of your Lodge, including the occasional roe deer grazing in the surrounding woodland.

All that's left to do is pour yourself a wee dram (well, you must do as the locals do!) and relax.

Things to note

Regrettably, pets are not permitted. No smoking. Bike storage is available on the property.
