Birdholme Glamping
England / Stanton-on-the-Wolds, Nottinghamshire
Full description
Unwind in a luxury safari lodge with its very own hot tub, surrounded by 15 acres of woodland and lush wildflower meadows in rural Nottinghamshire.
Surrounded by rich, rolling Nottinghamshire countryside, Birdholme Glamping is a welcome escape from life's everyday cares.
The five luxurious safari lodges you'll discover here are perfectly positioned amongst 15 acres of wildlife-steeped woodland and wildflower meadows, complete with a shimmering pond and a winding stream.
All you'll have to do is choose your favourite lodge!
Sleeping up to four adults and two children, three of the lodges - Hawker, Osprey and Fieldfare - are also dog-friendly... so your best four-legged friends needn't miss out on a well-deserved break.
No matter what time of the year you happen to visit, you'll feel perfectly relaxed... whether you're snuggled around the log burner on chilly evenings, or catching up over afternoon drinks on the sunny, scenic veranda.
If you enjoy stargazing, you're in luck: as night begins to fall, simply pop open a bottle of bubbles and relax back in the hot tub for a genuine sensory treat.
Back inside, the large, open-plan lounge is a joy to relax in, with underfloor heating and glazed doors that allow golden sunlight to flood cheerfully inside. The kitchen, meanwhile, is fully equipped for feasts of every description - including the essential dishwasher to help with the clearing up!
When it's finally time to turn in, you can take your pick of sleeping spaces: a cosy double room, a twin sleeping area, and a fun mezzanine ‘cubby hole' with a double mattress that's ideal for adventurous little ones.
The bathroom is gainfully equipped with a piping hot shower and a stack of fluffy towels, and there'll be plenty to keep you entertained... when you're not gazing at the antics of the local wildlife, there's a TV and full Wi-Fi.
If you're staying on site, let the kids get back to nature, running wild and building dens, as you curl up with a good book and let the tranquil atmosphere carry you away. There are plenty of beautiful walks to be taken, too, and friendly local pubs to discover.
Wandering further afield? There aren't many places richer in legend and history than Nottinghamshire. Here you can visit an enchanting castle-cum-museum, get lost in Sherwood Forest, explore ancient caves, and cradle a drink in England's oldest inn.
(And that's just for starters!)
Things to note
Check in on Monday or Friday from 4pm, check out by 10am. Lodges can be booked for 3, 4, 7, or 14-night stays only. High chairs are available on request (free of charge) and travel cots are available for an additional cost of £25 (cot bedding not supplied). Mezzanine is accessed via step ladders and is located in the eaves of the lodge so would only recommend this for children age 5+.
